I have a losi lst2 and when I start it, it revs real high and when i give it gas it doesn't want to move it just sits there... I've pulled the cover off and the spur gears are not moveing.. idk what to do if anyone knows whats going on please help me

Yup...sounds like the clutch shoes on the engine. It is a fairly cheap fix, should be under $20 for a new set of shoes. As Matt said above, pull the engine then the bell gear to check out the shoes. If they get worn down too much they will not grab. If that is not the problem check the flywheel nut to make sure it is tight. Should be an easy fix either way.

Flywheel nut is tight. Thanks for the help ^ I'm going to tear it down and check it out. Hopefully be goin tomorrow!

Depending on how the shoes are, you may want to get new CB bearings as well. If the shoes wore out, then more than likely, new bearings are also in order. As shoes wear down (especially to the point of not working), that means they slipped a lot, which heats the bell up and boils the oil out of the bearings, then they fry. If they are shot, they will cause excess drag and help wear your new shoes out faster.

Before you go too far maybe consider a 4 shoe m2c clutch. My stocker was constantly overheating, even when it was new. The m2c made for a bulletproof clutch.

I'm new to this rc stuff... But I just replaced the bearings in the 2 speed gear, the bell gear or whatever so that could explain it all huh? Lol sorry I'm a noob...

I don't think that would cause a problem, unless you got a lot of oil on the shoes. You could try taking the bell back off, wiping out the inside with alcohol where the shoes make contact, also clean the shoes, then rough up the bell and shoes with some mild sand paper and give it a try.

Just curious, does your flywheel seem to be spinning when the engine is running and your trying to move?

what do you mean Flywheel... Lol I've never had an rc car I don't know much

Hey guys I just wanted to let you know the clutch shoes were worn so bad the springs were poping out the center of each shoe and one spring was busted

Okay I got the parts and I seen the springs are post to have a notch in the shoe but my old ones were shot most def but I put it all together and it still doesn't want to move very much, do i need to adjust something?

the slipper on mine was slipping so much that it popped into second gear right away. Then If I accelerated slowly the 2 speed worked perfect. The slipper on these things can be tricky.

The spring it pretty much compressed id think it would be tight? I just don't know its staring to piss me off lol..

Have you ran it with the gear cover off to see what's spinning when your trying to drive it? Your obviously losing power somewhere or your engine is so out of tune that it isn't getting high enough RPM to engage the clutch strongly.
