I'm runnin a XXX-NT RTR having lots of fun with it, now I think i need to change the clutch. When I hit the throtle the fly wheel spins and engages the spur gear but the whells don't spin. Any info on how long a clutch will last or how to tel if its bad or if I should just clean it and put it back in??
Help!!!!

Sounds to me like it may be that either your slipper and or diff is to loose. Check those out before the clutch.

The stock clutch in the xxx-nt RTR will last a few gallons before it needs replacing. It sounds like what DirtRacinFool mentioned may be more your problem. Is the spur spinning and not the shaft the spur is on? Is the spur spinning and not the wheels?

If your clutch was dead, the spur wouldn't spin and obviously, nothing else would either but the flywheel.

yeah what they ---^ said. First thing to do is put a mark on the slipper disk and spur gear so you can see when it moves/slips. Then stick a small screw driver between the CB and spur gear to keep it from turning. Hold one wheel with one hand so it doesn't turn and rotate the other wheel forward with the other hand while watching the slipper clutch. If the clutch doesn't turn or slip then you need to adjust the differential. If the slipper spins easiley then tighten it up until it take some effort to turn the wheel w/o the diff. slipping. If its all tight and still has no power then you will need to look at the clutch for wear.

Also you may want to remove the slipper and scuff the pads if they are glazed from overly slipping.

sounds like the diff is blown. Common until you replace the coned washer with a spring
