Hi people!!!

I have a hpi savage x and i have gone through i clutch (not setting right)
I have just gone threw another one. It was set right I think it was becouse it wasn't vented and it looks like it has melted. Can any one recomend a good clucth bell that is vented and not too priceiy.:D:D

Thanks!

sorry 15 tooth . I have just read the manuel and it says i should have a 17 tooth but a 15 tooth came with the truck . Witch one will be the best???

How long did it take you to burn through the new clutch?

Tooth count depends on the engine, tires, wheels and personal preference. I tend to run lower gearing than many which takes some stress off the clutch/engine but puts the stress on the rest of the drive train. So I try to gear my rigs where the engine runs at a good temp without running it overly rich when in grass and leave it at that.

OFNA makes really good hardened bells:

That's about all I buy for CB's. Have been running them for years on my savages, buggies and BB revo.

However, your clutch should last a good long while whether the bell is vented or not. You may have some other issue. Did you clean/sand the interior of the bell where the shoes make contact? Did you clean/sand the surface of the shoes where they make contact? All it takes is one drop of oil to kill a composite clutch. Roughing up the surface of the shoes and bell help them break in quicker IME. Cleaning all parts with DA gets rid of any oil. I normally clean with DA before and after sanding. Then I don't grind any of the oil into the surface of the shoes.

A last resort may be going with alloy shoes. But they require upkeep to keep them from getting hung up on the flywheel/bell as they grind down.

Need to make sure you are running a hardened bell if you are using the hardened steel spur gar.

Hi all

I had to take it to the model shop this week because they was a bad bearing or something which stopped it from moving back. Any way he set the gear mesh. I took it out today and it looks like it is wereing down and not sounding the best . i was going flat out becouse the, other reson i took it to the shop was because (it wasn't shifting). I have a harden steel spur gear 47tooth.

Will that clutch bell be ok for that...:)

Alright like i just said, you need a hardened clutch bell if you are running the hardened spur gear.
If you dont understand that, then goodluck i guess.

Where are you from?
Both of those are located in the UK if that is alright with you.

But to answer your question, you want the 77107 CB

Scroll down on this page until you find the Clutchbells, all of the Clutchbells listed are the HD Hardened bells that will work with the Hardened Spurs.
If you click on a bell you can see the part number, you can then search ebay for that specific part number.
