both of my clutch bell bearings went bad this weekend. i've had them in for about a gallon with the stock 3 shoe clutch setup, and 5 or 6 tanks with the fioroni sliding clutch setup (carbon pads)....could the extra heat from the sliding clutch caused the problem with the bearings, or do they just go bad from time to time...?

any shared experiences with this problem would be appreciated.

btw...its was in my storm pro (w/ os vzb...close to 2 gallons still going strong...keeping my fingers crossed)

What kind of bearing do you have in there? If you got cheap ones, then they lasted longer than they should have. I bought some really cheap ones before from my lhs and they went bad in one day. Then I went back and bought some better ones that was more than double the price and I've gone about 2 gallons threw it. I check them this last weekend and they still look and spin like they were new.

Caluber 30 is a type of Kyosho Helicopter

At the bottom of the page it states that they can be used anywhere tho.

Bearings

Rcatl-

Boca Bearings has a range of different quality and size bearings at fairly reasonable prices and I think they have a few sales on right now.

Acer Racing also has a few worth considering, but a little more pricey.

And if you want the least expensive try HobbyBearings.

thanks for all the info...i'm ordering from boca bearings stainless steel case w/ ceramic bearings mike at boca says the ceramic withstands heat very well, thew stainless case shoud fail first....little expensive ..$31.50 a pair, but i'll give them a try.

thanks

whoa.. wait.. before you go spend 31.50 a pair.. go to www.avidrc.com he has great bearing.. i have almost 2 gallons on my bearings.. with no problems yet..

www.avidrc.com fast shipping.. GREAT prices.. and great customer service.. i redid my whole car in these bearings.. and they are smooth as silk..

I have heard good things about avidrc. Don't own any, but they will probably be my next bearing purchase. Boca is just TOO expensive. They might be good but not worth that much.
