Heres another ?, What is the best way to clean exhasut gunk on the truck, Do I have to take everything off the truck to get in the cracks or tight spaces. I would rather not. Is there a spray that would help, as of right now I'm looking at it and it does need a quick cleaning, I use to just get a screw driver and paper towel but it is slow doing it.

a man with alot of q's! just use nitro spray. its only about 4-5$ and it does a good job. it doesn't last that long though. what i personaly do is take off all electronics ie.. servos, reciever, and battery box. then clog the exhaust and carb ports very well. next get out the hose!! if you have high enough pressure you wont even need degreeser, it will take in all about 30min but its very simple and definatley worth it after a heavy bash!!

Thanks bigboy, I guess thats what I was exactly wondering if I could use a hose, it would make a difference though.

I definately wouldnt put your new 400 dollar investment under a hose. Use nitroblast, rc cleaner, denatured alcohol, or simple green. Putting the car under a hose parts could rust and many bad things could happen. And if you use nitro blast after a while it starts to smell like dr. pepper

I'd be careful afound simple green. It's pretty powerful and I have seen some adverse reactions it can have on some types of plastic. I'd stick with denatured alcohol, a q-tip and an old toothbrush.

I aggree I use nitro spray and it works real well and will get rid of all of the oil and gas you might have spilled on the car.

Don't forget the baby wipes. Go buy a box of baby wipes so you can at least clean the body right away when denatured alcohol or what ever you use to clean is not at hand.

I use hot water with the spray hose in my bath tub. Everything is waterproofed, so the only thing I do is pull the battery pack and cover the air filter with saran wrap and a rubber band and spray the crap out of it with scalding water.

Been doing this to both my trucks for almost 2 years with out adverse effects. Just be sure to waterproof your electronics before taking this route though.

Then I go over all the exposed bearings with a drop of 30wt motor oil and used compressed air to blow the engine and carb dry. Everything else I let air dry.

I use compressed air and thats it. Enought psi gets all the gunk out for me.

I'm a simple guy, I use dish soap (gets the grease out) and the sink sprayer. Nothing like hot water and the lemony fresh sent of dish soap. Been doing my RCs like that for some time now. If I find them to be too muddy (believe me that happens quite frequently), I will start the cleaning with a shot from my garden hose.

Like many have mentioned, care around the electronics is a must. For those worried about rust, that is why there is oil. Clean then oil...it works just fine.

i take a 1 gallon jug of mineral spirits, hook it up to the tube on my airbrush, and blow the crap out of my truck! good as new

i have also been doin the hose thing for some time without adverse afects, its fast and simple then (for rusting) i blow the whole truck off with 200 psi from my 500gallon compressor!!:tank:

A 500 gallon compressor!!! I have a 3 gallon one and It works fine, how did you come to aquire a 500 gallon compressor?

my dad owns a machine shop!! he has all kind of crazy tools hes a machineist a profesional mechanic and he is also a car body painter(it was a trait he picked up from his dad)!! thats where the compressor comes in he needed a nice compressor that would spray at about 150psi for more than 2 min. so he got this huge mother of a compressor and now my trucks are never dusty after a run!!

"Nitro Spray" == "Brake Parts Cleaner Spray" + $3 profit.

Check the contents.

Note : do not confuse carb & choke cleaner and brake parts cleaner - the carb & choke stuff is flammable, conductive and leaves behind an oily resudue.
