HI everyone !! Ionly have brake cleaner to clean my truck...(can't find denatured alcool),what should i be careful not to spray with the brake cleaner ???:help:

Your Engine, diffs, bearings, tank...

IMO don't use it. You risk harming your truck.

Home Depot and Lowes carry DA.

Seems I do a lot of things that shouldn't be done. I clean my truck with brake cleaner all the time, I don't let it soak though. Just spray on and blow off with my compressor.
If you want sparkling clean, use a toothbrush and DA

Thanks alot guys !!! I think that I'm gonna find some DA... dont wanna screw up anything !So anything plastic can be washed with DA ?:juggle:

I clean my truck with DA and haven't had a problem with it.. just don't get it on electronics and you should be fine!

i use this speed cleaner stuff from the LHS don't know whats in it but its very flammable (potato gun fuel) lol. it comes out like a pressure washer and I have never had any problems. It can be used on your body as well. it wont eat the paint.

so the DA is that just what we could call white spirit (over here)? or terpentine?

DA is Denatured Alcohol. Clear & quick drying..
I've never tried DA on my trucks though...

I found that a good spraying of Simple Green, a toothbrush to knock down the heavy stuff, a rinse with hot water, & finally a good 20 minutes with the air compressor works great..

Hi !!! simple green does about the same job too ?Cuz much easier for me to get it at work along with a couple of bottle of compressed air.:celebrate:

keep in mind that we live in monteal, canada , so I'm not sure we have th same stock over here.

DA (Denatured Alcohol) is available in EVERY drug store, and also in the pill aisle of any grocery store.

Why the hell poeple told me that it would be found in with the paint stuff ?!? No wonder i could find it...:trashed: Thank alot ROLEX !! Gonna check it out monday :w00t:

DA is everywhere. It's the basic staple for cleaning scrapes and cuts. That's what the doctor has on the cotton ball that he wipes you with before giving you a shot. You can get it on you, and it's never a problem.

Not at all. Not like turpentine mentioned earlier, either.

Just ask in ANY drug store. It's also very cheap stuff.

It's also known as rubbing alcohol.

AAAAh !!! that the name i was lookin for...sweet:thankyou:

Chem lesson: Rubbing alcohol is isopropyl alcohol, your fuel is methanol alcohol mixed with oil and nitro methane. Denatured alcohol is the same as Ethel alcohol. Ethel alcohol is drinking alcohol. but denatured alcohol is Ethel alcohol that has been changed to prevent it from being drinkable. You can get denatured alcohol at Home Depot or Lowe's in the paint section. it is used as a solvent.
