ok, I'm not sure where to post this, put this is good enough.

have any of you guys use paint thinner to clean up your parts? this stuff works great. i just fill a oil pan with a little bit of thinner, and put my parts in, you can also use a brush for stubborn dirt. i use just the basic stuff that comes in the big 5 gallon black metal barrels. this stuff is great for every thing. make sure you dont use it on plastic because it will melt it. and dont buy the expensive temp. rated painting stuff, this is specificly made to clean things up. works great on my 1:1 car work too.

very daring to use it on your 1:1 car. does work great for clean up but way to risky near paint, rubber and plastic.

I'm never without lacquer thinner. Excellent for removal of oil and grease, but very hostile on paint and plastic.

Yes it does work well; like has been said keep it away from painted items and plastics. Also on another note do not use it on YOUR parts. Many PARTS and TOOLS are a bit sensitive to paint thinner and can strip off....um...the finish

ya, dont worry, i only use it when I'm taking apart the cars. and if its worn to bad ill repaint it. i can't ever put any thing back together dirty, lol. and if its plastic i usally use alcolhol.

i use methanol for cleaning parts, hands, but its not as good as lacquer thinner, its still good. but will not harm plastics or paint. and its only $2.70. oh i also mix my own nitro and use the same methanol. and i think its flash point is 51 f, thinner is 20 f, , and in day light you can't see the flames of methanol if its on fire, dont know about thinner.

why not just use denatured alchohol for ALL your cleaning needs, regarding RC of course. I am a house painter and believe me I have almost every solvent cleaner known to man but ALWAYS use DA for nitro cleansing. works great and won't harm anything inc electronics!
