I can understand as well although most people i know online don't usually have as many issues with theirs. First time i drove it before it had issues i was impressed with how fast and fun it was i still like the car but not really happy that i now have to put 4s spec diffs in it. The issue i had was the mesh was too tight in the gears so it sounded like it was binding and i even tried shimming them. I know there's cars that suck and cars we love\like from the brands we all like i like and don't like some things both Traxxas and Horizon build nowadays.
Thats rough to try and shim out a bind... build, test, unbuild, reshim, repeat.
A lot of work for no results is annoying at least!
I really enjoyed driving my Jato 3.3, just too fast. It drives AS ADVERTISED!
I enjoyed driving my Revo 3.3 too. I blew the trans in it.
It could well have been my fault so I'm not upset, nor knocking that truck!
I LOVED firing that thing up and ripping around our BIG @SS dirt driveway back in NH!
It also worked very well!
Its really unfortunate, the love/hate relationships! 🥰🤬🤣

Cool, I wish i could own a nitro especially a nitro 4-tec 3.3 with a 2spd but Traxxas stopped making them and their parts many years ago or before i got back into the hobby. They're also super expensive like the same as an XO-1 or a Limitless V2 build and it might not perform any better perform than those two would and i feel that the maintenance involved with Nitro might be a deterrent for me. But many people really like them and some even say they're more fun than electric but there currently just isn't any well supported on road nitro or off road nitro i would be interested enough into to buy. No offense to you and others like btw.

I had experience with Cox engines years before. I was aware of the noise and mess involved.
When I got into r/c, indoor racing was electric so thats where I was focused.
It took me a while to ce around to the idea of investing in the equipment and learning new practices etc. "The learning curve" was intimidating me a bit.
I got over the noise thing and at one point or another just sort of realized that nitro isn't THAT messy, that nitro IS a TON of fun, and that I am already a grease-monkey, full blooded!
I never looked back! 🤣
(Thats because lipo's were still "ahead" at that time!)
My track time was ALL with brushed and NIMH. If you didn't maintain your race car and motor, it was def going to fail. Just a matter of how long it would take.
I guess that maintenance just never factored?
Brushless and lipo have changed r/c almost completely from its roots.
Again, a steep learning curve with these but I am muddling thru! 🤣
I'm happy to say that I truly have enjoyed a LOT of R/C! 😍
I'm enjoying the return to it all again too.
I'm not offended... I am guessing within a few years, you'll have had an opportunity to run a nitro that really just makes you smile.
THAT is the nitro you will buy and love!
Whatever you choose, it will never be wrong! 😉
