hey guys got a question. i have spaz stix chrome (mirror) paint that i am using on a guy's mini-t body. how many coats am i supposed to shoot and am i supposed to back with black?? i am right now on 4th coat and when i put it on my black carpet it really shows nice.

The more light even coats, the better... Make sure there light coats though... A heavy coat will dull out the mirror chrome effect.
5 or 6 coats should be fine. Back it with FasBlack or any "water based" flat black.

lol thankz, i just got done shoot the spaz stix black backer on it and man she does look HOTTT!!!!. this is going to be a kool body

Gotta get some pics up when it's finished..... Chrome is definately an eye catcher on R/C lids...

yes i can tell, it is going to be pretty neat. i also have an h2 body jsut for fun to mess around with. i have some pretty insane ideas. i got the chrome and color change and whole bunch of different colors. just might have a very bright and interesting body when done. got any ideas of what to do on it?

thankz

I'd really like to know how that Spaz Stix holds up.

I've used the Alcalad (sp), in both spray can and through my airbrush and have been very dissappointed with the durability.

The paint just does not adhere well. A few good hits and its starting to flake off. not in massive chunks but enough.

I've done many light coats, backed it as Alcalad states then even put a lacquer based coating to protect it. But it just doesn't hold up.....

BTW, I'm not new to painting with Alcalad as I've used it on static aircraft models and have been painting with an airbrush for 22+ years....

I've always backed my lids with FasCoat by Parma, & never had a problem with flaking...
