Well its about that time again !!I'm thinking of getting into nitro r/c again !But i've only had a 1/10 scale buggy. So i need some good info on some of the good 1/8's out there. All i know is that i would prefere (sp) it to be a .25. Just as long as none of them are over $500.By the way i live in Canada so the funds are in canadian dollars. If you can help me out that would be great.
If they are more than $500 thats ok.I'll just save up more.

goto - ofna.com - they are your best best for that motor size (and why .25 ?) and price

I think that XTM Terminator buggy also has a an oversized engine. The reason why most buggies come with .21 engines is because anything greater than .21 displacement is illegal in some races. It's also worth mentioning that some of the good quality .21 engines will out run the poor quality > .21 engines.

RB Concpets C5 .21 Buggy engines vs. OFNA Force .25 engine

The C5 is going to win everytime.

true, but when something breaks you having built it you would know now it goes together and be able to fix it. It takes about a good 2-3 days lil bit a day to build a 1/8 scale.

+ its kinda fun :D

if you want a complete RTR package for under 500 the ofna hyper 7 pbs is a great buggy. comes with an awesome engine (hyper 8 port) has plenty of hop ups available, and even includes a starter box. here is a link:

If you want to spend a lil more, the GS Storm RTR is also a great buggy. Comes with one of the best radio's out there right now as part of the package. the engine included is really easy to tune, and has adequate power to get u started. Sometimes parts can be a bit hard to find, so make sure your LHS can get them. below is a link.

If you are willing to install your own radio, the hot bodies lightning pro is a great car too. engine is only so-so, but is enough to get u started, same engine that comes in the savage.
here is a link for that buggy, as well as a decent starter radio.

why .25, u can't race and its not worth it. .21 are insane and after messing with one theres no real reason to upgrade. Definitely go for the GS storm. Everybody is biased about there car(no matter what people may say). The storm will get you the most bang for the buck tho.

It only took me about 5 hours to build a Storm, is that usual. I work on real cars but this was my first R/C

If you dont race, their may still be a couple of storm ARR kits out there for under $400, you would really have to do some searching but if you find one its a great choice, you could add your own mill and radio and its a very good first build for any one!
as far as what engine, I have a OS21rg-x in mine and really wouldnt want anything bigger, its sik fast and is far more reliable than most of the 25's(IMO) If you really want to bash right away the RTR version is no slouch either! and with the new storm MT thats out now with a .25 it may also be what you are looking for as well! Athough I am a storm owner, I am also looking for a new buggy or MT, the winter bash is comin soon and I want to have more than one off/road with me, I am looking at Ofna/mugen/kyosho, but now leaning towards the storm MT so I could have on the spot parts back up if I need it! I dont know what you LHS situation is, but I would go and at least check out what they have as far as parts for anything you choose!
good luck!
