whats going on, i've went through 2 stock spur gears in four short rides. maybe a tank and a half of gas. what is wrong? i don't want to keep putting a new one on ever other day. it will start to be a pain. i was going to get an aftermarket one but now i am planning on selling it to a friend so i don't want to spend much money on it. but on the other hand i don't want to sell him an r/c that has something wrong with it.

now to another question. is it worth it to get a revo? i am going to lose out on about 400 dollars when i sell my maxx, and since i am going to be so behind in money i don't want it to break as easy as the maxx. will it hold up well, and do you guys think it will be worth the money, or money loss?
 
Check your mesh. Also check to see if your chassis is tweaked. As far as the Revo, it's up to you. I've seen a couple run and they are nicely balanced trucks. I just think that if you're happy with your Maxx, just keep it and save some money for the Revo till the weather get's warmer.
 
Also so if u get cought up on something an your hitting the gas an no wheels are turnning, STOP.... If u do that u will break the weakest link which is the spurgear.
 
You may have a cracked motor mount, cb bearing that's going out and heating things up, slipping clutch shoes that heating things up, stripped tranny case screws that letting the tranny move on you, stripped motor mount screws either on the top side or bottom.

I had a cracked motor mount and didn't realize it. I went through 2 spurs before I pulled the engine and realized one of the little legs was cracked and the engine was basically being held on by 2 bolts instead of 4.
 
alright thanks guys. i still think i am going to get the revo though and sell my maxx after i figure out what it wrong. wish me luck
