Does anyone know where I can find a cheap set of screw sets for a used maxx I bought? It is missing 15-20 screws and I figure it would just be easier to buy a whole set if I can find one cheap enough (under $15 hopefully).

I was ordering a few things from tower today and they had at set that was like $110 :OMG: so those are out of the question.

Most screw sets will cost you around $25, but they're pretty complete.
Do a web search on "T Maxx screw set" and you'll get lots of results.

Be aware of the fact that in many cases you get what you paid for. Cheap screw sets are not often the best road to travel.

I recommend steering clear of anything stainless and going with something in the hardened category or black oxide steel category.

Thanks for telling me this as I was under the impression that SS would be the best way to go.

I am wondering if maybe the hardware store will have these in stock as I have a list of the sizes now, I can spend about 30-40 bucks but I can't afford anything like that $100 set I mentioned.

Which ones do you use btw?

I use black oxide from Racer's Edge and they are not cheap. I'll try and find the set.

I looked at a few online shops for the set I had, and can't find it. I bought them at my LHS about three years ago and haven't had to buy more since.

The Full Force link provided above has a black oxide set for less than $30. That is a great price.

If you must go with a stainless steel set, I recommend getting the hex head style screw vice the phillips head.

Just hit the Racer's Edge site, and it looks like they only make a steel and stainless steel set for the T-Maxx (now). I must have gotten lucky or I am not remembering the right company. All I know is that I have two screw sets that I pull from in my field kit (one black oxide and one stainless). The stainless set always ends up breaking or bending and I use them very rarely. Any black oxide screw that I have replaced has not needed another replacement.

The racers edge stainless screw kit blows. I bought that one and am slowly but surely replacing them with black oxide du-bro screws.

I keep stripping the RE screws. The heads are sloppy on my losi wrenches. But the du-bro screws are nice and tight.

IMHO, RE aren't worth the plastic bag they come in.

I'm not sure what your link is for, but this one is the kit I bought. Be wary, as it doth sucketh mucheth.

I've bought some of their other aluminum parts and they are up to snuff though. I have their AL trans case and servo mounts, very nice.

Well I found this but look at the price and the fact that there is no pic I am assuming it is not what I am looking for.. I will shoot them an email and see if I can get more info.

Not the screw set. That is something completely different.

My point proven rather eloquently. Guess I got lucky or mis-remembered the company that made my screws.

If you need a full screw set go with the one from FullForceRC. As mentioned above stick with the alloy screws, as the stainless ones are prone to bending at Bad Times.

If you need replacement screws only I'd get them from MicroFasteners.com, not Dubro.
Is it better to pay $1.29 for 4 screws or $1.90 for 20 of them? I'm unsure. :D

Man, I want to know what hardware store you guys are going to. None of mine have anything small enough, let alone $5 for 100. What they do have, they charge .60 a piece for.

If you are looking for particular sizes in bulk, you can get them very cheap from McMaster... This company is great to deal with. I have ordered countless items from them with no problems, & fast shipping...

McMaster.com
Look under Fastening and Sealing
Then under Socket Head Cap Screws

Yea we have also bought Hex wrench sets which are a nice addition to my tool arsenal.

Not to be a complete idiot, do you know the thread size for all of the screws on the maxx? Aside from my engine mount screws of my 21 conversino, I think they are all 2.5mm. Am I wrong?

Thanks for the link ImBroken. I'm there right now and now I'm not 100% sure as to the size of the screws I need.
