A guy at the track suggested I change the configuration of my chassis stiffeners. For example, on the front stiffener, instead of connecting the stiffener from the front support plate down to the chassis, you would connect it from the front support plate straight back to the center support plate. And similiar in the rear.
This would put the stiffeners in a horizontal position instead of an
angled/sloping position. Has anyone tried this or see it before ?
What about keeping the stock position and adding an additional stiffener in the horizontal position ?
 
Some buggies have alluminum stiffeners that go from the front to center and center to rear in alluminum. I don't know if there better though.
 
I'm going to stick with the 'triangular' physics standpoint. Isnt a triangle one of the strongest shapes on earth? I think the more triangles the better. 1 for the front, center and rear if possible.

Hell, what do I know?!?! I'm just speculating.....
 
C, I think you're right. Many of us try and improve on what is already a good idea. If the company thought that running the stiffeners horizontal was better, as you put it, "Triangle" (good observation), then they would have done it that way.

Actually a round shape is the strongest, as in a perfect circle.

As much as I agree about the triangles, I think in an RC buggy application - the front brace to center brace, and center brace to rear bulkhead is a stronger and more rigid system. Why? because as on nightmares buggy, (as I see it) that would totally eliminate chassis flex if designed correctly.

The common brace design - [front brace to chassis, and rear bulhead to chassis] - allows for plenty of flexage in the middle - if your chassis actually flexes. (most do.)

Still - two reasons id stick to the typical 'triangle' design is because 1. it looks better (lmao :clap: ) and 2. because for me a little bit of chassis flex equals a little less stress on pricey-to-replace shockshafts.
