Tell Bogie that Dukes says "WOOF".
Looking forward to some pics and that RCNT picnic.
I think it would be great to put faces to names and personalities.

There's nothing I would love more than to be able to get a bunch of us RCNT regulars together for some HUGE races and HUGE bash sessions. Don't know when it will happen, and it wont be soon, but I'm thinking about ways to get a bunch of us together.

I'd be happy to chip in my fair share and then some Charlie if money is an issue. I bet you would be surprised by the response. Build a track and they will come!!!

It's coming alright, just slow. I got help up last week because I was supposed to get my dirt on Thursday, but it rained Wednesday so it was too wet to get the trucks in to where the track is. Now the sun has been shining so they are supposed to be at my house at 7 in the morning with the first load, and it will probably take most of the morning to bring the other 5 loads. I started last night spraying grass killer where we will spread the dirt, and I'll finish that up tonight if I don't have to work late. I'm thinking we'll get the dirt spread this weekend, as long as nothing crazy happens. I'll put some more pics up once some progress is made.

I guess that answers my question about racing this weekend LOL. My offer to help still stand, just let me know. I can bring the Wheely King and get you hooked on another type of rc =devil

alpine, I don't think I'm going to need any help this weekend, but the next one I might be laying the border down and I'll definitely need help, but we'll talk more as it gets closer to time.

Whatever you need, Charlie. I'm there for you.
Provide me with airfare, 1st class lodging and 5 star dining and I'll bring my own lawn chair. I have a lot of experience when it comes to watching parts arrive and pointing to where they should go.

Rolex, I just got your PM. Calm down, I will change my track policy to include a senior discount. I can't believe that you threatened to fly your peas down here and have them yell at me because my policy was "wrong" even though it's free for everyone.

The dirt has landed!! I just got home from the office, and while I was working late this evening, they delivered two dump trucks of dirt. The good news is, I've got some dirt. The bad news is, I know I'm gonna need a lot more dirt to cover the track than what I have already ordered, and that means a lot more money. Oh well, ya only live once, and I'm not married so I might as well spend it on something I'll enjoy!

:spit: Exactly! Do it now buddy! 14 yrs of marital bliss... If I'd have just shot her, I'd be out by now...

Just kidding, she's a great woman!!

Let's see some pics of that dirt track in progress!!!

OK guys, I took some pictures of the big pile of dirt. I got six truckloads total, there's two more loads off to the side. I was going to use them for some other stuff that I'll be building, but I may go on and use them on the track surface. Ordered six more loads to be delivered next week, so this is just to get started. Keep in mind, I could have bought a brand new Revo cheaper than this dirt I've gotten already, but I really wanted to have a nice place for me and the local guys to "run what we brung"

I haven't even told my neighbors about the track yet, so if I come out in the morning and find a bunch of tire tracks about 6 inches wide in my dirt, I'll know who it was. I'll only have to narrow it down from about 11,000 of you guys.

Wow! Look at all that dirt! That is the most beautifully dumped dirt I've ever seen. Look at that texture! Keep the pics comin' ! :stick:

Well I've been making pretty good progress on the track now that it finally stopped raining for a few days. I would give up cajoun food (which is one of Louisiana's only strong points) for San Diego weather any day. The rain caused some of the dirt to clump up, which is causing less than perfect track conditions, but nothing that we can't deal with. All in all, I think it's coming along great. I've been taking lots of pics along the way, and I'll post them up later. I started to post them last night, but I had been working on the track since the sun came up, so I went straight to bed after taking a shower. I got up again at 5 this morning to get started. My good friend Smaxxin is coming in a few minutes to help me with the track and bash and crawl around. Check back this evening, and I'll have some pics.
