Alright, so I'm about to change from Tamiya to Deans, but I have a question. The charger I have uses a Tamiya male plug. Do I just cut it off and solder on a Dean male plug or do I have to buy another charger?

Yes you need to buy a new Charger. A deans charger runs between $100-$150

No,really, just cut the end off and put on the Deans.

Go to your hobby shop and get an adapter that goes from the Tamiya plug to a Dean's. No cutting, no soldering, and you now have 2 different plugs for other adapters.

They didn't have those, but I'll just cut off the Tamiya connector. I just wanted to make sure it was safe.

I have built several adapters for my chargers so that I can charge every type of connection with every charger. It's a great way to work on your soldering skills as well, or it was for me anyway. If someone needs a Tamaya connection let me know, I bought several the other day. Please don't tell me you need it if you have a desk full of them or if you own a hobby shop.
