hey i got 180$ to buy a .21 engine not the conversion kit I'm goin to get the bolt on. i need some sites for the cheapest one you could find. thanx

So you have the kit already?

The engine I run on my XTM 21 converted maxx is the OS 21 RG-X(P). It's a good long lasting engine with plenty of 21 low end power. It's a bit weak on the top side, but once you hit 40, who can drive the maxx anyway?

Here's a pic:

Here's the link ($139) I was an idiot and paid $170 for it at the hobby shop. Bastards!:

Sup dude,

So I'm assuming your talking about the new Picco ".21" mill that will fit the standard chassis and engine mount??

More power is awesome but it can cost allot of money as the entire Maxx driveline can't really hand the power in genral and especially the Torque of a big bore. Hell, The stock Maxx can barely handle the power of the 1.9HP Sirio .18 that myself and many here have. Talk to some of the dudes here that are running a Big bore on their maxx like olds. They've invested a small fortune in diff, tranny and drivline upgrades to handle the power. Also keep in mind that many of these people are running high gearing and NOT low gearing. Hell, you can tweak the hell out of the stock Maxx sliders with the "2.5" engine and a 16T clutchbell. I would seroiusly reco that you look into beffy up your tranny gears and looking into some good CVD's for the front and rear (run your center stock drivline as the weak link) before you invest in an engine that your truck can't handle.

Peace

LOL OLds, Apparently we posted @ the same time. That's a sweet as Mill for the price. That would be an awesome engine for a newbie desperate for real power as it should be relatively easy to tune and hold a phucking tune.

Peace

so if i have a stock maxx and put the engine in it would mess up alot of stuff.. because you know i want more power in my truck and how would i do that without putting a .21 in it.

Sorry about that. I had assumed you already had the 21 kit and was looking for an engine.

As for more power, you could go the siro .18 route. But as 30% pointed out, the maxx can barely handle what the 2.5 throws at it without serious coin being dumped on it.

I've purchased alum diff and trans cases to avoid twisting and throwing off gear mesh, all RRP steel gears including spur and alum bulks to take the abuse a 21 throws at it. It's taken a lot of money to make it durable and make it through a weekend.

But you don't really care about the $ when you go home with a fully functioning truck after getting 15-20 feet of air all day long.

yea well you know I'm just a 16 year old and I'm gettin like 200$ for my b-day on the 18 and I'm not workin yet, and i can go and buy things everytime i mess somethin up and i guess i shouldnt get that engine cuz i can't buy all that other stuff what should i get for 200$ for a stock maxx have any suggestions oh yea well i will have 150 $ cuz I'm havin a guy porting my maxx so any suggestions for me to spend 150$

I do have a full time job and I'm not 16. I wanted this stuff when I was 16, but couldn't afford it then. I can barely afford it now! (my wife lost her job recently)

It depends on what you already have on the truck. RPM arms, integy bulkheads is a good way to eat up $100. Then maybe a hitech 645mg servo for the steering and your $150 is gone.

You could knock $30 off and only get front aluminum bulkheads. That's what i broke all the time. I went through 5 sets in a month before I went aluminum.
