like is said in another thread i am fixing to buy an rc10gt that has an ae .15 on it that is used with a bump start. i dont have a starter box but i was wondering around how much would it cost to change it to pull start. or what would be best to do. there is also an ae .12 that i am getting with it so the same for that engine. or should i sell these two add some of my money and get a new egine with pull start. the guy said that these engines have 1 gallon through them so i am guessin that they still have decent compression. so if you guys would suggest me something i would appreciate it thanks.

You would have to buy a new engine. The nonpull engines have no nub for the parts and pullstart assembly to connect to. UNLESS it was converted over to a bumpstart, then that's different. Conversion goes one way. Pull start ---> nonpull. Not viceversa.

EDIT: I am reffering to a simple backplate and pullstart install. It can be done when done in the way Jon2 refers to in the following post.

Really? I was told by Hobbypeople that it could be done. It would need the backplate, Crankshaft, one way and Pullstart. Was I lied to here?

I meant in the sense of jsut taking off the pullstart and replacing the backplate only. Of course, if changed out completely, it can be done. Sorry for the vague reply Jon. If done in the way you just said, of course it can be done. Just more steps to be done. My bad.

whew you scared me there brother!! its not an easy change up but can be done. I think that its cheaper if you look in the right places.

Why would you want to change it back though? I changed to a bumpstart and prefer it over a pullstart. Quick easy starts, I love it! Yeah, it's one more thing to buy and lug around, but it's worth it. It doesn't take much to start my car. 1 full charge on the dual sticks and I'm good for at least 20 starts. My car starts with just a short tap onto the starster wheel.

Yanking at 100mph, and cussing doesn't look to good to someone from behind. Think about it, it's a funny sight, especially if you're doing it with another guy at your side.
