Hi everyone..

I found this truck:
T-CEN9226-lg.webp

It's only $279, Nitro, 4WD, RTR

Is this a POS?
I've never owned a RC anything before but I'm really interested in getting a Truck for fun. Something me and my brother-in-law can race around the yard and street with.

towerhobby also has their own RTR nitro truck which looks pretty good for only $189.

I started off leaning towards the Duratrax Evader ST, then after reading posts here started leaning towards the Associated RC10GT

I really don't want to spend more then $300.
There are just so many choices..

go with the rc 10 gt, or an xxx-nt... they are both good trucks in that price range... i dont know too much about the cen or tower hobbies ones but id stick with the ones that the parts are readily availible for aka rc10 gt xxx-nt and nitro rustler, although I've heard more bad than good about the rustler... good luck and welcome to the feild.

CEN is a new product that is getting kinda popular. I am not sure of that particular truck you are talking about but they have a monster truck coming out with a .46 bb I believe and it has four wheel steering and so forth. It is supposed to be a nice truck. Before you go buy something you might want to check to see what people have up for sale in the for sale trade forum.

Thanks guys..

A couple of more things.. :o:

I can tell that I'm gonna get hooked on this..
I really want a Nitro car that I can assemble myself.. No RTR.
Could I get a non RTR setup for under $300 that is still good?
I don't have a clue where to start..
I want to be able to change and customize the body.
Buy upgrades (so I can get that competetive edge on my bro-in-law)..
Gonna need a remote, what do I need 2 or 3 channel? why?

Sorry if this has been asked before.. I have searched..

Thanks Again..
Denis

from waht i hear CEN is a new coming company that puts out good products. the particular truck you found is the same platform as one of there monster trucks, and the MT suposedly won an racing event in totaly stock form versus a bunch of modded out t-maxx's. i do know new era already has alot of hop up parts for it.

yes...you will be hooked on it. admit it. in the back of your head your already a nitro addict. hehe

i think AE, HPI, kyosho, and many others have great kit's for under 300$, in many variations ( no motor/high end equipment, regular equipment/with motor)

try looking around on these post/forums and see whats popular. i think tower hobbies with there great service and selection is great for a new person when it comes to buying.

almsot any body will fit on almost any kit, jsut gota get creative with were to cut the holes on the body and may need extended body mounts to work. i have a nissan skyline GT-R on my 24.7 t-maxx. i think it looks insane..in a good way.

AE and HPI are probably the most popular kits and they all have huge aftermarket. better have a fat wallet ready on hand, or a very nice girlfriend/wife

a 2 channel will be all you need with nitro, unless you buy a kit that has reverse, but most kits that have reverse will be RTR. if you got tha bones get an nice FM unit. better reception, more options at hand for throttle/brake/sterring adjsutment.

peace--

Finding a kit for under $300 might be doable. Making it more than a roller might not. When you buy something in kit form without electronics and an engine the price is usually right...but finding an inexpensive radio and an engine run your cost up.

Thanks everyone..
Can somebody check this out:
http://www.hobbytron.net/ST-2-Stadium-Truck-2-(2-speed-transmission-pre-installed).html

The CEN truck is 4WD, 2spd trans.. Do the featurs of the truck look good?

I was also looking at the LOSI XXX-NT RTR but can't find anywere if it is a 2WD or 4WD truck.. I would think 4WD would be better...

Thanks.. Happy New Year.
