Been an interesting day for releases. First this morning AE offering a really nice-looking Mustang bodied drift car. But then comes this in Email from Amain. The CEN 1/8 rally car. Definitely want listing this puppy.

CEN 9000 Rally

Long have I salivated for a rally car but always held back because at 1/10 scale they were more an on-road offering than a rally offering. In 1/8, this chassis can really tackle some RC purpose built multi-surface rally courses. This release being an improved version of last years. Somehow missed that release, but this one - at least my take-away from the Amain vid - is a refined offering that also features a boat-load of factory option upgrades.

What thing, guys (and gals)? -AC

It looked good running in the video! It looked like a rally car, not an on-road with big tires.
Interesting that they used a 3650 for this kit.
Can't wait to hear how you like it!

Looks great. Max10sct + 3660 seems more than enough for what's basically an SCT.

Dang. That's a really nice looking rally car. Looks like it rips around pretty darn good to boot!

And Hobbywing and Savox components standard? No brainer man. Get it, and tell us all about it. I bet it rocks.

And the option parts they are offering for it look nice. CEN is stepping up their game, and that gets me a bit excited because I have always thought they make some of the coolest looking RC's.

I have always thought this was an awesome looking RC

In AMains video I saw they use a 3658 can size motor
Yeah. After i saw that posted i went back to the ad. Says its a 3658.
I thought it said 3650 in the video and it caught my eye as odd.
Whatever they use, the car looks well balanced as it drives.
I'm not into 1/8 scale really but I do like this car!

Really is a good looking rig. I really like it. Just don't have anywhere good to run it.
I hear you, Doom! That's always been a factor in holding back RC Rally here in the states. This CEN, being 1/8 alleviates that somewhat for the casual driver or basher.

Competitive events are a bit of a different story. RC Rally is really not adaptable to the typical off-road set-up here in the states. Rally doesn't do big air well - it's usually not built into the performance envelope. Option might be to provide a drive-around option for rally on the normal RC off-road. That would at least offer a doable compromise for those looking for track time. Of more interest to me would be an off-road mixed surface course. European courses seem to do this more than US.

Have seen some European rallies that resemble a 'trail walk' method to complete a course. Interesting concept, but a bit slow and takes away from the wild action rally provides.

CEN is offering a product in this 9000 that may finally break the code. -AC

I used to have some great spots, but they have all been developed in the last couple of years. The 6S Mojave hasn't got to stretch it's legs for a while, still looking for new spots.
