Caught the XBOX360 bug.....;)

Well being it my B- Day is coming soon I broke down and bought myself (and the FAM) an XBOX 360 and three games.

WE got
Halo 3 of course
Gears of War and Bioshock (kids said it would be cool.)

WE set it up on my Toshiba 32 inch non HD TV....it looks great and the game play is incredible.

I can see that an HDMI TV is in my future ....perhaps Christmas.....


anyway I just though I would share for those on the edge....take the plunge...... great console and halo3 alone is worth it.

Agreed, Halo is always worth buying the console just to play the game.

You bought some of the best games for the 360, dont spend to much time playing.

Congrats. Its adicting thats for shure. You should get online play if you already didnt, it changes the perspective of those game, espicaly halo 3. Have fun with it.

I just got my PS2 delivered to day (from lessen) but I haven't connected it yet.
I saw Xbox being used in Best Buy the other day on HDTV, and I watched it like a good movie. Absolutely the closest thing to actually being in the driver's seat. Stunning 3D graphics and detail.

I'm still engrossed in my Wii. Just got Metroid Prime 3:Corruption and it's freaking awesome. But now that I know PGR4 and Forza 2 are available for X360, it's giving me the itch to get one...

My nephew just picked up one, and plunked down the cash for the Xbox live setup. Aside from having to upgrade the router and modem (Xbox's HATE netgear routers), he's had zero issues. Literally plug in and go.

I'm saving up for one. i really want one bad, main reason is for PGR4 and Forza 2. Ace Combat 6 looks pretty good, too.

Congrats on the purchase! I'm sure you and the fam will enjoy many hours of fun. Unfortunately, my wife isn't much of a gamer.. she couldn't even watch me play GT4 as it would make her sick :shrug:... women. However, she does spend a lot of time with her DS..probably the single most used gift I ever bought for her..pretty surprising as well. I wouldn't put it past her to buy a Wii around the holidays. 360's look cool as hell but Nintendo has me sold right now.

We're getting the kids (me included) a Wii for Christmas. Found a great deal online and it was delivered last Friday. I'm already having fun with it because I just left the box it was shipped in right in the middle of the basement by the big screen. Kids keep asking, "Dad, what's in the box?" I just tell them it's some computer gear I bought (so I'm technically not lying to them!)

I have Wii for the family, it's a lot of fun. The 360 is for me, get Dirt, it rocks and is actually easy to drive with the controller. MotoGP is fun too!

Ok not to jack a thread but beings were on the gameing subject, anyone rember the game revolt for 64. It was an RC game. Wow that brings back memories lol.

Oh ya if you get xbox live id pick up a used copy of halo 2 too. Its much better online I think. And theres still alot of people that play it to.

I also picked up the Wii for my son, and have found myself playing it with him.. It really is a nice game console with some great extras..
The internet channel and photo viewer are pretty cool. I also bought some of the classic games from the Wii channel to mess around with..

After seeing "DIRT" on the XBox360, I am going to have to pick one up around Xmas... That game is just badass... lol

Hey guys, thanks for stopping by.....we are now the spoiled digital family...we have every console except the PS3.....and my middle son is making noise about his allowance and an advance to grab that one.

When you live on a mountain in house entertainment is essential...but this is a bit ridicules.....I will need another room for the TV I have my eye on.....and another TV so someone can watch TV while the big TV is being used for gaming.


Ah well better than drugs.....wait did I say that???

I know alot of guys with the XBox 360 and they love em.I recently got a Wii for my son and I love it.But after thinking about it I should have bought a PS3.The cheapest blue-ray disk player you can buy plus it's plays games in HD..But I'm sure you will have hours of fun with your 360..

congrats on the gaming console Talon......I'm becoming a regular gaming whore the last 2 weeks....I've got a PS2, Dreamcast, Wii and the 360....trying to get the guts to order a new HDTV and I'll have a PS3 by Xmas I'm sure (Gran Turismo next year is going to get me fired I'm sure)......funny thing is I play a few games on each....Xbox, Hands down Call of Duty 3 (4 is coming in 2 weeks ).....I hate Halo online but love it offline when I play with my daughter.....Wii is all about sports...bowling and tennis kill me after an hour of gaming.....PS2 is gran Turismo 4 and Mortal Kombat.....Dreamcast is for Pod Racer & Worms Armaggedon.....

360s really are fun, but make sure you keep that thing cool with some after market fans.
And don't use the fans that run off the X-box its self, use the ones that have their own power supply.

The reason behind not using an after market fan powered by the Xbox is it supposedly causes it to over heat and causes the dreaded "ring of fire"

Thanks fro the advice........I have not picked up a fan yet.....but it seems to run pretty cool all by itself.........I will take a peek at them today.......as I am hunting for a new controller... Gotta have two.

Yea,
For short term gamers it should be ok by its self but a 20$ fan is much better then having a 350$ paper weight!

Just a heads up on controllers

I'm not sure if Mad catz makes 360 controllers but if they do I would be against buying them.

I have had 2 mad catz controllers and both suck.(But tthe Mad catz steering wheel is nice!)

Number one the buttons wore out VERY fast, and number 2 the controll stick Is a 1,000 times more sensetive then it should be and it always drags in one direction when gaming.


Like I said just a heads up on that.

You should also look into the HD-DVD upgrade, Talon. It's the cheapest one on the market and will work on a PC with the proper Drivers and Software.
