thats what the tech at hpi told me thats what prolly happend the oil from the gas made my engine lock up and i had 2 take vice grips and turn the fly wheel 2 brake my engine lose

Hydro locked. Next time remove the glow plug and turn the truck over to drain out the excess fuel.

Blah420, do the rest of the members and the staff a huge favor, please? Never make another post with "???" as the title. Your title should be indicative of your question or problem. Non-descript titles like the one you used do nothing for anyone (those that need help or those trying to provide the help).

As to the problem, I think some elaboration is in order. You may want to describe what your indications are or what the symptoms of your problem are. So far, I am agreeing with the previous replies in that it sounds as though you are talking about Vapor Locking, but you will need to provide some information to help us confirm that.

ok well when i would put my roto start in my truck with out the glow plug in the engine would not turn over at all.and I'm sorry about the the title

Probable:
Dead or weak batteries in your roto start?

Flooded engine

The answer for batteries speaks for itself. For a flooded engine remove your glow plug and crank her over a few times.

thats the whole thing tho no matter what battrie i used it still wouldnt turn over and i didnt have the glow plug in

Most likely you are running a bit rich, or over priming. Too much fuel in the cylinder no matter what the cause wil cause the engine to hydrolock castor lock is a bad name for it.

By foprcing your engine to urn over you can bend your crankshaft. next time,
Pull the pressure hose off the pipe.
Take the glow plug out. (please make sure there's no grime)
Turn the car upside down.
Run rotostart until no more fuel comes out.
Relpace plug
Replace pressure line
Start it up :D

It is difficult to vapor lock an engine without the glo-plug in place. I'm going to have to agree with EP on this. Probably weak to dead batteries in the roto start unit. If the batteries are okay, you might have a busted up unit on the engine (bad one way or something along those lines).

As for the flooded engine theory, that would be hard to argue one way or the other if you are running the engine without the glo-plug in it. I am assuming you are just trying to get the rotostart to turn the engine vice actually trying to start it up.

i had the engine out of the truck there was nothing hooked up at all and the roto start wouldnt turn the engnie over period

Is this a brand spanking new engine?

It will not turn over with new batteries in your roto start and no glow plug in the engine? How old or new is the engine? Which engine? How long have you had it. Give a few more details, please. The English language has millions of words, don't be afraid of using them to give more details.

yes i was just tryin 2 turn the engine there was no glow plug and as far as the castor locked i have no clue cus thats what the hpi tech called it so I'm clueless

Take your time and breath.

Answer some of our questions:
1. Is this a new engine?
2. Has it ever started?
3. Is the glo-plug new?
4. Is the battery in the glo-ignitor new?
5. What fuel are you using?
6. Which engine is this? HPI what?

EP...I'm stepping out here...he's all yours.

yes its a brand new engine, its ran about 1/4 of a gallon gas can,new glow plugs, its the.25 engine and I'm useing byrons fuel 20%,and the battire on the glow plug ignitor works cus i tried it on and a dif plug
