  1. Bashing
Now that I have your attention... I was bashing around last night and tore the driveshaft out of my truck... looking at doing the HPI/REVO setup for the rear center shaft, but thats another post.

During teardown I decided I would fill my diff a heavier wt oil to help with off roading and found that a bearing had grenaded in the carrier. Now i don't know what size it is because it was destroyed and almost stripped the ring/pinion gear. The bearing in question is the inner bearing on the pinion shaft.
Does any one know what size this bearing is and how it fits over the shaft of the pinion gear? If its the same as the other one I don't see how it will fit on there...

I'm anewb in this stuff but is it possible that the pinions are already pressed with the bearing from the factory? or do pinions not come like that?

i have a feeling you're right. it doesn't look like it will slide on any other way

it will probably be cheeper in the long run to just get a whole diff assembly. then you can tear it down and put your oil in it.

i just took a second look at this thing... that part that looks like a collar in the middle is just the inner part of the bearing that I destroyed. Duh.... Traxxas lists the part # for the bearing on the pdf file with all those fancy numbers on it... Problem solved!

If the gears are starting to strip..... get a new dif, there cheap on ebay.

the gears look ok right now... I'll wait till i tear them up to replace them. I don't upgrade something until I break it... Haven't even replaced the front a-arms yet...
