can anyone tell me how to set and ehat the different between High-Speed Needle and Low-Speed Needle? how about the factory setting, i mean how many turn from closed of the High-Speed Needle? thanks

Slightly Confused!

Hi not entirly sure what you mean but I normally start with the high speed needle 2.5 turns open. Then to set the idle close the throttle trim completly and apply breaks/reverse fully and adjust the idle screw till you can see a
0.5mm in the slide or barrel. Hope this helps.

hi, you mean 2.5 turns open its that from closed? thanks

Yes, but close it gently. The low speed needle (LSN) controls the idle, in conjunction with the idle speed screw, and also determines how much punch you get from a dead stop. Be careful, to lean means too hot. The HSN determines how it runs at WOT, or wide open throttle and often needs to be tweaked for temperature and humidity outside.

It controls the idle and how the engine runs at "Low Speed".

I will check my manual later, but I'm sure the factory needle settings are, HSN set 4 turns out (CCW) from closed. The LSN should be flush with the area immediately surrounding the screw head, that should get you pretty close. This setting will most likely be rich but shouldn't require alot of adjustment. I run O'Donnels fuel, when I made the switch from Traxxas Top Fuel I had to go back to factory settings, the O'Donnels needs a richer HSN. I actually had to richen my HSN even more than the factory settings to get the temps in the desired area.

If you still have your manual, read the part about the needles, it helped me to really understand what each needle does. If you don't have it, go to Traxxas.com and you can download a copy of it. It will also contain the factory needle settings.
