Hey, i was just doing my weekly screw tightening thingy and i go to tighten the carb and SPARK and now the screw is loose but the carb is solid in there.. That means i think the screw cracked in 2 i only got the head. How do i get it out now? Wow its gonna be a tuoghy..

Tap on the carb pinch blocks with a small punch and hammer if you have one. Be gentle but firm. Use a screwdriver if you don't ahve a punch. The goal is to get them to rotate just enough to let go of the carb neck. Do not twist on the carb, it will ruin it. Pull straight up and out. A little heat helps too.

Actually, if you take the engine out, then tap a punch on the shaft of the bolt where the head broke off, and it should pop the other side out entirely. Hopefully there's enough screw still in the half that comes out to get it out with piers.

Only one side of the cinch "nut" is threaded. It's the side opposite the head of the bolt.

EDIT:

Sorry, I didn't realize HPI ever used a solid cinch vs a split cinch. It appears on tower that that old 21 used a solid cinch... The K4.6 used what I was talking about.

21BB:

On the 21BB type, you would need to tap the center of the part that the bolt broke off as well, but nothing would come out the other side. It would just move a bit then by moving, it would let go of the carb neck.

Ye maybe ill just heep it in there since the carb is so tightly in and then when it gets loose then ill start to panic:0:)

There's a high likelihood it will loosen on you once you run it... which may not be the best time to have a nasty air leak or have the carb fall off. Then you run the risk of dirt getting in and you will more than likely loose the cinch pieces that may be repairable.

Lol i gues sur right byut i just used it like 5 tanks through it a\nd still in there rock solid

That's good stuff... must really be cut into the carb neck to hold on like that!

If it's like the one for the 21BB, then it won't fall out. But your carb might loosen on you, so I'd take care of it as soon as you can either way.

ya it was in extremely tight !!! But ya ill try getting it into the hobbyshop as soon as possible cuz i honestly dont wanna fiddle with it.. But the thing is when h etakes it out and i acnt use it till he orderes a new screw right? Or can he substitute it with something else?

Cuz the clamp is prob fine its just the screw is in there and ya its the 21bb

Watcha think?

I don't know that engine well enough to know if something else will fit, but I'd just get a new clamp and screw on order. Your bolt may have broken off flush in the clamp which means it may destroy the clamp when you try and get remainder of the screw out. For the cost, it would be worth it to buy one now and hope it doesn't come loose in the mean time.
