hi, i have a picco p3 its a .21 it was running well, up until went over jump and landed top 1st, after this I have not been able to dial it in again, it just keeps cutting out on anything over 1/8 throttle, could it be carb damage? fueling issue, ran through Rolex's tuning diagram and did everything that it said, but still no look, the high speed needle was so far out that it couldnt be good for the engine, so took it back the other way and still did exactly the same, any help would be extremely appreciated

thanks

You say it took a big hit when it landed top down. It sounds like it could have developed an air leak. Take the carb out of the engine and inspect it closely. Any cracks? broken parts? bent linkages? Put the carb back in, use some RTV sealant in the carb hole (just a little), take off the exhaust, put your finger over the exhaust hole and blow into the carb. Does air flow as you are blowing into the carb? where is it coming out? find a way to seal it so the engine is airtight. Common places for air leaks are
- around the base of the carb
-around the pinch bolt that holds the carb in
-around the backplate
-around the glow plug, get a new one
- check fuel lines for leaks, bubbles
-check where the fuel line hooks to the carb, is it tight?
- check fuel tank for air leak- take off the line that goes to the exhaust and blow into it
-head may have come loose
-look it over closely, check for cracks, loose screws, air leaks

How did the HSN get so far out?

sorry that was my explaining, i'm new to this so worked through rolex's chart again, the hsn was so far out cos i kept doing the 1/8 thing with it as it just kept dying, after an hour of adjusting hsn to and fro i thought there must be something wrong, havent had a chance to look yet though
