I know you guys are probally sick of me asking carboration problems but just know what you tell me i tell someone else down the road.
My storm yet agian did not hold a tune. It goes 2 feet and dies. It will idel fine but when i apply gas it goes 2 feet and dies. My thought is the lsn. Do i richen the load or lean it. It does not speed up or lean out and die it just quits. I think i have to lean it. Give me a break I'm only 13.

Ok take your HighSN and lean it out about 1/4 of a turn and then try it if that does not work then it may be your low speed needle. if it is the lsn (which i doubt) then take it and turn it in or lean it 1/4 of a turn then try it.

First off, put your car on your starter box and try tuning like that, it should be snappy and have no hesisitation and wind like there is no tomorrow. There should also be a good ammount of smoke. Once you get this set somewhere in the ballpark then put it on the ground and tune from there. Remember don't tune a cold engine, and don't do major changes all changes should be very small test it out then try again. So set your needles back to stock settings and go from there set your hsn first then go to your lsn. Good luck!

I was out there trying to start the storm and found the problem. The car does not draw gas. I have compression but i think my needles or fuel nipple might be clogged. The carb will not let gas in and my needles are not all the way closed. What should i use to clean them?

Cheerrs

Well the best thing you should do is take off your carburator off the engine and then take some carb/choke cleaner (from your autoparts store0 and completel wash the inside througs every little place on the carb. then take some compressed air and blow out your fuel lines....

Now if it getting air in the lines you may want to check every line for cracks and make sure you have the carb on tight...

Yeah, I'd think you have an air leak as opposed to a clogged line...

It's more likely not pushing fuel through rather than not allowing it through. Air leaks suck. I'd check all your lines and put zipties (little ones) on all line connections. But then again, you may have your HSN set so lean that it's shutting off fuel flow. Try setting the needles back to stock and start from there.

The problem i have found when setting my needle back to stock is that when i do my car will not run at all cause it it is way to fat but yea it might work for you but then you will be fat too so just try leaning it out first

If he's already f'd with it, who knows where it's at! True, stock settings are normally rich, but at least then he won't be guessing as to where it's sitting.

Just a thought.

I'm going through the same problem with my trashass i mean traxxas .
go to give it gas and it dies and I've tried messing with the needles to no sucksess
I've changed all the fuel lines ,gas tank, o rings and still no help.
so I'm guessin the carb is clogged i'll find out just kind of leary takin it apart and makin the problem worse
sounds like our problems are the same ill let you know if cleanin the carb worked or not

well if you think the carb is clogged then take the carb off and give it a soaking in some carb cleaner......Soak it for like 15 min...

THEN take and put the needle setting back at stock and keep slowly leaning the LSN till it runs and goes then dies Then Start leaning the HSN untill it will go without dieing

I'm now starting to copy and paste this info since I've typed it so many times.
So, here it is again. No matter where your needles are, this works.

Put the nose of the truck against something firm so it can't get away from you. If you have an EZ start, keep it running while moving your LSN one way or the other till it starts to run.
Adjust your LSN and idle screw till it idles well and will run up to half throttle. (get it to running temp before you finalize any settings) When it idles properly, throttle it to half and see if it stalls or bogs down. If it stalls, it's too lean. If it bogs, it's too rich.
Now go to full throttle. This is when you adjust your HSN. Same thing. If it bogs, it's too rich, stalls, it's too lean.
When it seems to be running good, pinch the fuel line. It should speed up slightly and then stall within 3 - 4 seconds. If it stops quickly, your LSN is too lean. If it takes longer, the LSN is too rich.
Drive it for a while and then take a temp check to make sure it's at the proper temp. If it's too hot, richen the HSN.
You will have to make small adjustments on the HSN almost daily to compensate for outside temperature and humidity.

By the way, the factory settings are for break in, or a starting point if you really messed things up. Once an engine is broken in, don't expect it to run right by going to those settings.
