I'm just in from driving my buggy.... at first it ran sweet, it even started at the third pull. When it was reaching normal operating temps, the car wont idle. As soon as i let off the gas, 1 or 2 secs. tops, it dies.... what can it be, its not the idle screw because i was runing it perfect........my buggy is a gs storm with the stock .21B01 engine... any of you stormers have or had any problems with your engines????????

It can be your adol screw. Chances are it closes too much, it doesn't really matter while your running its just when you stop

I agree with vbgagnon. Your idle screw affects just that, the idle.
You could have a completely screwed up idle setting and the buggy would still run fine. It's when you stop that you would notice things aren't right. Take off your air filter and look down the carb throat. The gap should be somewhere between .8 mm - 1.0mm (give or take depending on the engine). Usually a 1 mm gap will idle fairly good. If your idle screw is set right, then I would think your LSN is turned too far in.

The gap in the carb throat is exactly about 1mm...... the thing is that at first the buggy ran great, i could slide for 6 feet and then slam the gas again..... now i have to be constantly on the gas.............and i didnt movce anything on the carb for it to not idle, like i said, at the begining of the day it was perfect, when he reached operating temps the car wont idle........:ponder:

Maybe your clutch shoes are melting. The only reason I say this is because it worked fine until you got it good and hot at running temp for awhile. Then it started failing on you.

I'd check the clutch shoes to see if it's time to replace the spring/shoes. A hanging shoe would cause the symtoms you describe.

I just took apart my clutch, but dont have any idea of what to look for, the clutch shoes look fine, no excess residue inside clutch bell............ any recomendations???

What kind of clutch is it? Is it a 2 shoe with a spring that wraps around them or is it of the individual shoe and each shoe has it's own spring kind?

If it's the first, check to make sure that the spring isn't stretched or broken.

If it is the secomd check that the spings are the same. One isn't bent funny, or desn't have the same tension ect...
