They're both totally nuts on 6s. The maxx handles better, but needs 1/2 offset wheels to handle better yet. The hpi tires balloon so bad that it makes the truck do flips easier than a maxx would. I had to upgrade my bulkheads, a-arms, center shafts, and hinge pins to make my maxx reliable, but it was worth it. The stock plastic spur is holding steady with the slipper set just right.

Just as a warning, widening a truck with nothing but axles is a bad idea, ESPECIALLY on the Flux or any other truck that makes that kind of power. I extended my X 4.6 but wont widen it unless someone makes some wider arms. Extending it out with axles puts way more stress on parts that have enough stress on them already.
2Revo is right, the stock tires are terrible on the Flux. Mine balloon at half throttle so you have to back out of it. The one thing about the Flux though is you really can't upgrade the drivetrain any beefier than it is stock.

Yep stick with the regular axles from the Flux, they are the same thickness as the XL Nitro but arent extended.

yeah, i like the extra length that the XL chassis added to my X, its just not worth the stress on the bearings and everything else to use wider axles... As i said if the arms were wider id go for it

no problem, i was a Traxxas fan 10 years ago, decided to switch it up when i got back into it. Now i bleed Savage X and Flux...lol

Well I have been devoted to traxxas for about 5 years now since i got into the game, and just now switching over to hpi flux. Huge change for me and hard to do but seeing this rig and the reveiws people give it is enough to try it out and to be hounest I might become and hpi guy to lol.

I dont have nor did I have any issues with Traxxas just decided to try something new...

This is the same way HPI widens the XL, with the wide axles, the A-arms are the same length as the X. There should be no problem with widening the truck this way.

Yeah, I know thats how they do it... I snapped a HD regular length axle in half with the Flux... I can promise you those axles are a bad idea but that is still my opinion. Theres a right way and a wrong way to widen the truck, the right way doesn't exist

Well never owned a flux but it seems to work well on the XL. lol

Using a longer axle adds stress to everything else (bearings etc) because its lengthening the shaft. If you leave the axle the same length and extend the arms there isnt any more stress to the parts. With the power and the weight of the Flux i just have to say it wont last very long.

I will see how durable they are once I get them on my savage.
