I have a 1/8th nitro buggy from Germany. I have started it before and it has been broken in. The problem is I can't get it to start again. I have burned out 2 starter boxes trying to start it. The starter box is making contact with the flywheel. But when it does it doesn't turn the flywheel fast enough. Can anyone help?

What kind of starter boxes and how are you powering them? Was the engine stored for a long period of time? Was it stored properly? If it had old fuel in it, the engine will have to be tore apart and cleaned. We need some more info. Using a rechargeable ignitor? Fresh fuel, new fuel lines and glow plug(s) are must haves as well in most cases.

I used a Team Losi starter box and an OFNA. One use two 9.2v batteries. Another use like a mini car battery. The engine was just replaced and restored by a shop. It has new fuel lines. I am using a rechargeable ignitor. Only new fuel has been run through it. I bought new glow plugs.

Pre heat the engine with a hair dryer. Get it as warm as possible. You may even need to crack the glow plug loose to relieve some resistance. Once the engine starts, tighten the plug asap. Sounds like the engine needs to break in a lot more.

That's because of mechanical pinch. Your engine is new and tight. Is your flywheel slipping? If not, follow post 4. If it is slipping, take the engine off, remove the clutch and tighten the flywheel. Then follow post 4.
