Can u fit a 24.7 in a stock maxx chassis?

Now here's how you do it, 1st rip the tranny out and throw it away! they are junk for anything more than a .15 anyway.(unless you sepnd $$$) then take out all the extra stuff that Traxxas puts on there.
Then you bolt in a MP tranny and a 24.7 and then you have an 8 pound 2.6 Hp ROCKET on wheels that loves to jump all day long. Put all the weight you can on the front wheels to keep it from flipping over backwards, and drive it like you stole it!

So... yes it can be done.

2. What do you use for front and rear driveshafts?
3. Is it possible to make the MP tranny a 2-speed?

Also as far as the weight is concerned I think you should be able to counter some of the need for that with the slipper gearing and your suspension setup...X

I can answer the two speed question and the shaft question.

Yes, you can make it a two-speed for about $90.

The shafts are CVD style whatever flavor you want to use. Just requires parts to make it work (outdrive cups, etc.)

As for parts numbers, I'll let the man who started this thread answer up. I can't find anything specific except the two speed spool for the Monster Pirate tranny.

The problem is not off the line for flipping over it's when you hit about 1/2 throttle the front end gets a mind of it's own. Ofna does sell a 2speed kit for the tranny also a slipper. The MP tranny is a solid shaft with a spur gear bolted to it. The tranny is way too expensive to buy in peices, look on ebay they sell complete for around $30 bucks. The stock MP bones fit the truck with very little modification.

Are you kidding? I used to do that with my stock T-Maxx regularly. That is the number one reason my T-Maxx is no longer stock.

Yes, but I do that and still have all the stock parts, diff's, bulks, arms and so on. I can do that and not buy a new truck worth of parts weekly. I have been running this truck for many gallons now and only replaced 1 front diff and 1 center bone. This truck has been a single fourstroker for about 4 gallons and the 24.7 for about 4 gallons. I don't baby it.

More video ?? here is another short vid of the truck making the jump airtime is about 24 feet, it was flying as far as the 1/8 scale buggys can with the short run up to the jump.
