Hi,
I'm really new to all this, well actually i've just purchased the 1:10 Gas/Nitro 4WD Behemoth Truck 18cc for my partner cause he's been wanting a 4wd remote truck for a while.
Can anybody tell me whether i've picked the right truck or have i wasted my money? i've seen feedback saying they have problems and its hard to get parts if you need them.
I'm also living in Australia.

Would really love someones opinion???

Thanks
Sarah

It's great for a starter car, but is pretty much a rip-off. You never want something that is no-branded or really hard to get parts for. As for this truck, you can only buy parts online. If you were to get a popular-branded truck (Like the HPI Savage), most likely your LHS will have parts for it when you break something.

just found it on ebay looks fine for a first loads of parts on there also.
I'm sure he'll be happy.
just dont forget to tell him to run the engine in and get some after run oil.

well, he tole me a lie then, cause i asked him the question whether i could buy the parts anywhere and he gave me some local areas and said ebay as well. so i decided to call some stores and none of them heard about it.
i bought it on ebay and I'm trying to get out of it. i've told him my partners got one and i didnt realise. i hope he lets me off or else i s'ppose its mine.
what would the HPI savage trucks be worth?
thanks heaps

i'm just scared if i get him it and it breaks on him or he can't find the parts then its a waste of money and a bodgy truck.
do you think its a good truck?

The Behemoth is HSP isnt it? Not really sure. I think it is and if I'm right then as long as its for fun then it will be just fine. Parts are readily available online and not being available in your LHS means nothing, in Australia at least because Murphys Law says that when you break something your LHS will be out of stock anyway. I have found that most of the time, parts bought online reach you before bits ordered through the store anyway.
It'll be ok, dont get down on yourself. Just make sure he runs it in properly and all will be well........

If you have any problems finding HSP parts these guys can help you out. http://www.plaig.com.au/store/index.php?cPath=23_28 i bought my HSP online and like yourself at first had trouble finding parts/upgrades or even people who knew what HSP were. This store is specifically for HSP. As for reliability, they are just like any R/C depending on what you are doing with it will determine what you break. My friend has 2 HPI savages and they both need repairs just as much as the HSP. My HSP has had a few upgrades obviously due to the price being cheap not everything is going to last.

The Savage is a great truck, a bit more than the Behemoth, buy more bang for the buck.

okay...thanks so much for the feedback on the behemoth...i decided not to go ahead with it and maybe spend that little bit more on a HPI Savage.
so my next question to you all would be your opinion on the HPI Savage 3.5?
so i got told its a great truck by a few people and i got a good deal...however the other day i walked into a hobbie shop and the guy told me not to buy one as they're no good cause they flip on any turns you do...???

i am near ready to give up...ha ha
this is a lot harder than i thought...but you guys have all been so helpful so if anybody can help me with this one that would be really appreciated.

Thanks :)
Sarah
