Can a gas tank not work?

Today I bought a new gas tank for my maximum st and it dosent work... I filled it up with gas and then went to start it... no gas went through the line... so i took it off and took off the lines and gas didnt pour out of the petcock... any ideas?

trust me there will be somebody that will know. in fact i just might. did u check and make sure that the hole aint clogged with something? try taking a needle and sticking it in there.

Make sure the fuel line goes to the carb and the pressure line goes to the pipe.

very true also. i dont know if it would work if the pressure line is on the carb and the fuel line is on the exhaust pipe.

First, check to make sure there are no obstructions to any of the openings (either pressure line in or fuel line out). If those openings are unobstructed and fuel still will not come out of the tank, then you have one hell of a problem.

well I still have no clue whats wrong with it... no fuel will flow out of the tank thru the lines into the carb... I put new lines on it.. and even a new fuel filter.... theres nothing blocking it i took a pin and that didnt do anything.. so I might take it to the hobby shop tomorrow to see if they can get it working for me.... I never thought a gas tank wouldnt work...

the biggest problem you are probably having is that your car is like mine..............its a duratrash maxium st pro, nothing works for more than a day before you have to replace another part:buggy1:

'Ajeauxdn' i hatre the maxium st pro i have one and it sucks balls...every thing brakes on the damn thing...

so with all the money i saved,my dad is gonna buy my trucks from me for $75 with no radio,servos,reciever. and the engine dont workl so he is gonna rebuild it for him self and put all aluminuim parts on it.

but all in all duratrax sucks.... I'm buying a HPI Nitro MT 4x4 Kit

you can chalk me up as another unhappy maximum st owner. that's old news though.

anyway, jason. i bet the primer pump is messed up. the primer pump in my stock tank was crap. the pluger sits right over the fuel outlet. i bet if you hold the primer button down, the fuel will run out.

my advice: take the primer button out.

properly of course. several people have made mention of it on this forum.

Alright I took out the primer button and it works!

I like my Maximum st mine breaks but its cus what i do to it....

Thanks robh ur a genious i didnt even think about the primer button...

my son uses it now. it stalls constantly and wont restart after it warms up. the engine has no compression. it's toast. i had to rebuild it from a used piston/sleave/conrod a while back.

i'm thinking about buying him an OS .15 so he'll has something to run.

at this point he just gets totally frustrated trying to start it

In mine theres a os cvx .15 and it made a huge difference

try checking for cracks,seams,anything that may cause the tank not to pressurize.

It was the primer button. That primer button, like the rest of the Duratax Maximum ST is crap.
