hello i have been looking around a very little bit for a camera but i have no clue what I'm doing when it comes to cameras so what would i have to spend to get a decent one that can take pictures and video? I have seen crystal clear pictures on here and i want some pics like that.. but what will it cost me?.. thanks!
oh and also i want to be able to use it on my mac and i would like to keep it under 200$ is a camera under 200$ going to be worth getting or is it going to be a junky camera?

Buy a Canon there great lots of features if you look around you can get a good buy. Just 1 note the point and shoots are very good thats what I have and mine does video. Check www.dell.com home and video they have a bunch of Canon digital cameras on sale now within the price range your looking for. Another note you should plan on getting a 1gig chip that'll take well over 350 pictures. Happy shooting Dan

Great guys thanks! i found the one hamz linked to for 149 bucks seems like a bargain for a brand new camera.

If you guys think thats the best digital camera for under 200$ then thats the one Ill get!

I was reading up on it a little and it seems to have good reviews. Thanks again!

EDIT: Is this camera MAC compatible? i have look and looked but can't seem to find the answers..

You should be able to use any photo editor that you have for your Mac and down load the pictures from the camera with the software. Dan

LOL.....I just love hearing mac users go bargain shopping....sorry man but you use a computer that costs roughly double what a PC should cost and then go bargain shopping on a camera.....I guess if you got a PC you could have gotten the Rebel.....

I'm not picking on you...just at you....all in good fun though...

I'm no so much bargain shopping as budget shopping..(i will be ordering over a grand of stuff(for rc use) around the same time i buy the camera so I'm kinda maxed out on my "Spend Cash For Hobbies" fund.

But any ways when your PC gets viruses or crashes and you have to fool around with it to get it working again just remember Ill be out running my RCs with a working (virus free) computer waiting at home for me.
Just kidding man if you choose to use a pc thats cool you have more bravery then me!
Lol any ways.. Trust me if you ever got a mac you would NEVER go back to a pc ever again and it is well worth the money!
I think the other mac users around the forum will back me up on this!:)

And thanks every one for the camera INFO!

I always heard that the reason the original Mac mouse had one button on it was so they wouldn't confuse their users....

In Video mode It does not zoom. I just set it to where I want it. I will live. I have been asking around how the 8 gig memory stick will be on my camera. They say the new cameras like mine can accept it. but I think my battery will die before I fill that up.

oh i know some of the others like yours can't zoom in vid. mode..thats why i bought the h-5, i have 8 gig cards for my canons i would stay away from them... when you fill a 8 gig card it takes forever to download and in an event that your card gets corrupted you will lose 8 gigs of pics i have a canon mark2n and that camera uses 2- cards a c.f and a sd its good to have a back up in case for like a wedding for something once in a lifetime

That is PIMP!! I wanted to get on older konica camera that was just as compact as my N2 and it was able to use both SD and CF. Good call on the download of the 8 Gig. I have a 2 and a 4 gig. I like the 4 gig since I plan to use it to recod when I am bashing. Great thing is that it records sound. Love this camera!!

the technology is off the hook these days ...just need to sit back and wait to see whats next...nobody will camcorders soon

Oh so true my friend. Most of the younger generation have camera phones. One of them even has a 2MP camera on there dang cell. We are getting more crafty things.. Soon we probably will all be lazier since the technology is getting so out there.
