hi everyone i bought an x factor monster truck.i have had it about 5 weeks and had nothing but trouble with this truck, problems are hard to start also engine cuts out when i bring the brakes on and also going through glow plugs every half an hour,i have taken this truck back to the shop 9 times now and they say its ok now and when i bring the truck back home its still the same i have asked for my money back and they said no.on tuning this engine i used 10% nitro but now I'm on 16% nitro i have used cooler glow plugs but still the same i have also tryed mixture being lean and also rich but still the same, but I'm a newbie at this could someone please help many thanks.oh yes forgot to say truck back in shop with a broken gear

try bumping up the nitro to 20-30% and use a hot glow plug..as far as the engine stalling sounds like a clutch problem...thats what happened to me before

Bump your nitro to 20% and as for it dying when you apply the brakes.
check you idel setting take off your air filter look down the venturi and turn on your raidio and reciver and apply the brakes..if your carb slide is closeing all the way thats your problem..adjust the idel screw clock wise in till you have around 1.5 to 2 mm opening.. thats were I whould start..

oh and try a med. plug like the mc#9

thanks for the replys,i will try going up to 20% nitro now with the clutch problem what should i be looking for, also how long should the gears last for as its only had about 3 litres through the engine

Why do think you have a clutch problem???

is the gear you are refering to the spur gear?

what mill do have in your truck is it stock?

if it is and your stripping them its because your clutch bell to spur gear mesh is not right.

hi,I'm only thinking of what biggy said as I'm very new to this hobbie I'm trying to get as much infomation as possible

thats cool but check out your idel like I was saying in my previous post.
LMK what its doing after you check it. dying when you apply the brakes this rule is the first to check..

yeah forgot about that zandor..what i was referring to as "clutch problems" is when your clutch locks (extended all way out against clutch bell) this prevents your clutch bell from free spinning and will make the wheels pull even when not on the gas..this sometimes makes the engine stall..
