can anyone help? was gonna get a roll cage for my maxx to help protect all my shiny bits when it's being abused, does anybody know where the three point roll bar from new era models attaches, i have a full force rc spider chassis and it doesn't have any extra chassis to drill bits in. also, how much protection does it offer? otherwise i'll have to sell my sister and wait on the titanium cage coming back into stock :hammer:

Well I dont know if it will work on that chassie but I am not sure.
a 3 point bar really only protects the engine area but a full cage protects everything. It is your choice.
I do more racing then bashing now which is why I will get a 3 point but if u are a basher it would probly be better to go with a full cage.

cheers, not too sure how high that would sit over my engine though, crazy nuts racing head's a bit higher than standard although it's had some abuse already and survived

The New Era roll bar mounts on the top 2 bolts of the front shock tower, the front left (i think) leg of the fuel tank and the hole used to hold the stock muffler wire. If you have a 2.5 chassis and lay it over your spider chassis you should be able to tell. It was designed for the 2.5 maxx if I'm not mistaken.

Here's a pic of the one I had with a tape measure to show clearance:

I never put it on a 2.5 maxx, only an XTM 21 conversion. I had to drill a hole for the rear legs, but I think that's mostly because it was an aftermarket chassis. I know you don't have material to drill holes in, but if you know your chassis compaired to a stock 2.5 chassis, you should be able to figure it out.

i reckon it's gonna be the new era titanium one once funds are available, the fact it attaches to the bulkheads rather than tha chassis makes it less of a problem with the chassis i've got and it'll not add too much weight.
