Hey guys. I am wanting to buy a heli for my hobby but I've been basically told dont because of its jus so loud and hard to fly. my question is what would be a good small one to start off with and learn for thats not to hard?

If you've never flown one before, I'd consider getting some sort of coaxial heli to learn some of the basics on. The Blade CX2 would be a good choice. If you're gung-ho and wanting to learn collective pitch, consider the Blade CP. Both are electric so they're quiet. they aren't horribly expensive. And it's easy to get parts for them.

Well i have some experience on small helis but i want ine about 16 inchs long you know that i can not just hover but can completly comtrol and manover

I don't have any experience with anything but surface RC's, and I'm getting ready to buy a heli, electric of course. I'm looking really hard at the Blade CX2 and CP.

x2, everyone that I've asked so far said they are great to learn on and most hobby shops will carry replacement and hopup parts for them.

The CP's I don't like, very unstable heli's...the CX's on the other hand, are a great little heli. Very stable and maneuverable, replacemnet parts are cheap enough and they come RTF out of the box! Although, as your skills progress, you will become quite bored with it unless you have a big living room and a spouse that doesn't mind flying in the house....lol...The Blade 400 is another nice electric that's reasonably priced...and it's bigger than the CX2 but of course, cost a bit more as well but you are getting alot more heli for the money...Once you get bit by the heli bug, it's all over with...lol....good luck and enjoy!!

there was a blade micro at the lhs the other day and the guy was flying it around. i was very impressed. i dont know his experience or what he has done to the bird but it was very stable!!

I have a micro moswuito. They are stable, cheap and replacement parts are easy to come by. I landed it on top of my grandma's wig this summer, the wig stuck to the heli, boy was she mad...

i have a blade cx2 that i never fly. its been in a box for a few months now. I went all out on it. carbon fiber tail, aluminum chassis and battery holder, all aluminum up the shaft and foldable blades. the problem is that its dang near impossible to get the foldable blades lined up just right. if you use regular blades it flies just fine.

i'll make you a sweet deal if you want it. That goes for anyone else too.

If you have already had some experience with helis, you may want to go with a CP. Get the training gear for it and you should be ok. You said you had some experience, you have an idea what to expect. Good luck with your search, let us know what you choose.

My CX2 lives on as a foamie airplane. Took the electronics out of that doomed piece of trash and made use of them. Lesson learned? Never buy a used heli unless you know exactly what you're buying.

Blade 400 next...
