Ok i just bought a used lois xxxnt and had it runing but the second day i took it out it didnt want to start so i did some fine tuneing and it ran for like 2 min then died. Now when i try to crank it over it sounds like it dont get any compression, like there is no air coming out the exuhst. i took the engine aprt and every thing looks good. did i burn up the piston or what. any help for this nube would be great thanks dman

i would check the head and shim..

first make sure the head is sealed.. second pull the piston and sleeve out and see how far up the sleeve the piston will slide when its cold. also check your exhaust seal to. it may not be getting any fuel

pull the piston and sleeve out and see how far up the sleeve the piston will slide when its cold. What am i looking for when i do this and what am i supose to find out by doing this.

Thanks

it will show you how much pinch is left in the sleeve. if the piston stops about 1/8th of an inch from the top your good, if it goes up to level or further, the sleeve is to worn and you need to replace it. be sure to use some aro or some other lube when you do this.

I think the sleeve is bad cus it dont have much pinch at all it moves freely. So is it best to get anew sleeve and piston or can i just get a new sleeve.

Thanks dwail420

if the piston slides up to far in the sleeve then its shot. you need to get the piston, con rod, and sleeve as they wear together and the old piston wont seal very well in the new sleeve

hold onto the old piston and con rod though, it makes a pretty nifty key chain

would it just be best to buy a new motor or the parts to fix it. the motor is about $130 at local hoby shop and I'm still looking for replacement parts.

i found out the problem it was the oneway bering. when i checked it it seamed fine but at high speeds tuning it would slip. so bought a new one and all is well. Thanks to all that helped me out.

Thanks Mr. dwail420:)
