Id like to build my tranny as tough as possible, probably with stock gearing, maybe gear it down a little for easier wheelies, id like as much steel as possible in it. Anybody have any good brands? Specific parts to recoment? I have a Traxxas FOC coming in on Wednesday, just a little plastic one for now until I do a total rebuild.

Thanks in advance :D

And then I get to sport my own name on my truck! :D Haha. Thanks, Ill go check em out now.

Older I think...there's a few pictures on my profile though if you check. Which specific gears should I get?

Looks like you have the older 2.5 style transmission.

You would need these:

They didn't have these when I had a maxx, but if your going for "bullet proof" and you feel like forking over the dough, then get these two speed spurs too:

Honestly though, with just the first 3, you will toughen it up quite a bit. Took quite a bit of bashing for me to burn up 2 speed spurs.

I went with an alloy case to give the new expensive steel gears the best chance at not wearing out due to case flex:

I had Racers Edge's case though. Don't think they make it anymore.

I ran mine for a year or so and sold it. In that year, I burned up 1 two speed OWB and 2 sets of 2 speed spurs. Probably at least 5-6 gallons worth of pretty hard core bashing.

When I sold it, the steel gears all still looked like brand new. I put a light coat of axle grease on them when I installed them.

Thanks for the links. I probably wont upgrade the two speed gears, at least not for now. But everything else for sure, as well as some sort of case. Thanks again :)
