I am looking to build up the tmaxx so it can take some abuse and not fall apart on me. I am not overly concerned with speed and it goes plenty fast for me right now.

Current Mods
Integy frame, O.S. 18TM, stage 2 intake and tuned exhaust, stock tranny (replaced once), high torque steering servo, futaba throttle servo, Futaba FM transmitter and reciever, Traxxas Big Bore shocks, RPM A-arms, RPM shock towers and body posts, RPM front and rear bumpers, UE bulkheads, THICK aluminum skids (not that cheap integy aluminum), metal shafts all the way around, aluminum hex nuts, Big Joe 40 series tires.

I had the integy monster EVO2 conversion on it at first but that kit is an absolute POS.

That was from about a 3ft fall on the rear posts.

Anyways, i am looking to mainly just build it up so i can take it out and beat on it without being afraid of breaking something all the time. I am looking at the rrp dual slipper and some sort of cage that will still allow me to use the body's. Is there anything else i should look at as far as making it durable? Thanks in advance!!!

Look for ways to lighten the truck up. The lighter it is, the more abuse it'll take.

Mine is pretty light and it takes a pretty good beating. Also I have an RCS rollcage.

i have a RRP daul disk slipper kit if your interested shoot me a pm and we will discuss it and as for rollcages check out this item number from ebay .very sturdy cages and reasonably cheap price
6041916640 just copy and paste that number on ebay

cages look awesome and will definately be my next purchase.
I just scored brand new front and rear RPM bumpers with a front skidplate on fleabay for 13.50 wooohoooo (nothing like cheap spare parts)

I finally got her back together after the last crash (from above pic) and it seems to be MUCH stronger and just overall better construction. Can't wait to bash on it this weekend.

I am a firm believer in all rpm plastic with metal bulkheads.

Thats what I was thinking.

I run a absolute stock Tmaxx all the time jumping it 3-6ft with zero issues. The last time out I did how ever broke a tie rod end.

What does RPM (bumpers)stand for...obviously new but excited

RPM is a manufacturer...they make plastic parts that are warranteed pretty much for life....

check em out...

As far as your truck breaking like that, yeah lighten it up....the advantage of aluminum towers is really for racing...gives your suspension a better base to "push" off of or rebound into...the RPM towers are soft and won't snap like that but you get less precise control in rougher terrain.....

Ever broken bulkheads? Those are a pain to replace. With my roll cage, there's been MANY times I would have broken them and haven't because of it. It attatches to the front, rear, and the chassis of the truck. You can literally stand on it.

I'm not saying it's indestructable, but definetely worth the money.

I've replaced them but so far haven't broken one my self. It wasn't to bad to replace but wasn't a blast either. The main thing I remember an issue with was figuring out which end was up on the diff lol

I also suggest people use CVD's...these damn shaft are a b**** to build:whip: If anyone has some tips, I'm all EARS lol

i got it started today and didn't have any time to play with it but i noticed that i had some smoke coming from the engine area. It seemed to get worse when i put the front against a wall and gave it a little gas to get the engine under a load. Not totally sure whats going on with that but it runs great and still has plenty of power. I'll look more into it this weekend hopefully.

Ordering a cage tommorow. Whats the best cage for a reasonable price (around $100 or so) I want something strong, easy to remove and attach, and still be able to use the body's.

RC Solutions cage is on the way. It looks like the best design overall IMO.
