Looks like a sweet spot and plenty of room.

Oh, and I think you are full of hot air!

Just kiddin bro. I know how hard it is to get time to do something that you enjoy.

Just an idea.
You probably have a layout in mind? Get out and drive it.
Maybe just lay out your pipe? Gotta buy it anyway. Pick it up after you decide what ya want. Add to it as ya go. Get your kid out there with ya. That will be a blast.

Would look silly as hell, but I think I would drag out a step ladder and run it.

Thanks guys. I am going to go actually measure the space this weekend sometime. It is not a huge piece of land but, it should be pleanty of room for what my stepson and I need anyway. I am hoping that this can be a project he and I can work on together. He just turned 7 Wednesday. I can't believe it! LOL

Digger I think that is a great idea. Maybe that is what I will do this weekend. Just get the CRT out and just drive it.... get a feel for the landscape and how it will drive the best. Thanks man!

I think I will take the bobcat and just scrape the surface to get it smooth, and then go from there. Hopefully I can get something done before winter! LOL

Well Everything has been tilled up and graded and yesterday I finally staked out the perimeter of the track. A friend of the family is supposed to come by this weekend and cut the track out with the bobcat. I could probably do it myself, but this guy is to a bobcat what a good surgeon is with a knife! The clay is also supposed to arrive as well. So hopefully I will be able to make some significant progress on the track. Lack of free time has really hurt the timeline I had hoped to keep. I simplified the track layout a bit too, the layout I had was just a bit to large a task given the time I was looking at. Also the cost of materials was going to be a bit much too. The oval had to go. Maybe I can put it in later. Well hopefully I will have some good news this weekend!

Where in Maryland are ya GD? I'm outside of Westminster and willing to help ya if you need it ( I'm not workin an angle to get permission), just willing to help a fellow member out and I think it would be a blast to build a track.

I live way down in Southern Maryland. I would love the help, being as I am completly winging this thing! I have no idea how to layout a track properly. I just went out with some grade stakes and a tape measure and went to town. I may take you up on that offer. Although I am not sure how my wife would take to me bringing a "stranger" (To her! LOL) to the farm. LOL I see your profile says your a Civil Engineer.... I am sure you know what you are doing!
