Once again the same solicitation without any reason or explanation as to why someone would want that buggy. Shove that comment up yer ass because that's just where you pulled it out of:LoL:

Why doesn't anyone endorse or use Crono? They make top line buggies, and a full race RTR kit for the Crono RS01 is $950 out the door.

I was thinking about getting that one, but its a wee bit out of my price range for a first time buggy... Nothing but excellent starting equipment though.

I've heard the name chrono, but haven't read anything about them. Sounds like a super exotic.

The lightning is a decent buggy for getting you feet wet. I have one, but I'm gonna sell is as soon as I put all the pieces back together. I must say that the K3 is simply a sweet piece of hardware. I'll have the running gear finished tomorrow, and the shell should be done by tomorrow night. This ride is definately not gonna be bashed. flown maybe, but not bashed.

One guy here as a couple Ofna 9.5's (I think), but he keeps fraging the diffs. Another has a Lighning Pro I and runs the hell out of it. There are a couple other guys that currently run 1/8th buggies and they're Kyosho (1 K2 for sure, the othr is either a K2 or 1). I think there was a guy at the track last weekend that had a Mugen. It'll be interesting this season though, more and more guys are selling their ST's and electrics and going 1/8th nitro buggy.

I'll weigh in on the Mugen MBX-5 side. Great kit, easy to build. Drop a good engine in it and the radio of your pick, and you are ready to rock. Heck I got to bash mine the day I broke it in. Great ride...plenty of speed...you'll like it.

Especially since money isn't a problem.

Kyosho's Kani 3,2,1 and Inferno 7.5
Mugen's MBX5
Thunder Tiger's EB4 S2 PRO

(notice they are in alphabetical order only)

Now do some research, as I am not backing any above buggy. They are all awesome period.

Notice the RS01 listed.

Maybe he meant "as a general rule." That's how I took it anyways. I see the Crono on rank listings for some of the top races, but I too generally do not see (hardly) anyone recommend them.

It's probably because they're so darned expensive.

Cool name though.

They are widely used in Europe from what I read. From what I know is they have a distribution problem here in the US and don't care to fix it wich sucks imo.

and if what I read is correct and he is from Belgium that would be over $1100 our dollars if he uses the Euro.

That could explain the prices that are well over what you'd pay for a great kit from other companies here.

Yea , i meant in general.

They probably do have a distribution problem in the states, but the price i gave is from an American distributor. My buddy has a sponsor in the states and he deals in 'different' buggies... They wanted me to get into a Crono but i couldnt shell out 950 to start with.

Sorry i didnt see you listed the buggy in your post :D

I havent seen any Crono dealers out here.. Kyosho is very popular, but OFNA is unheard of. Bergozoni (sp?) might be the track favorite , but we havent found a decent track yet :)

The euro to american dollar exchange rate is insane at the moment... I'm losing almost .25 cents on the dollar with every economy purchase, so I just order all my stuff from the states.

Good question on the Crono. I think its just because of the sticker shock that they are not COMMON place on the track.

I was just browsing through Crono parts last night in the new Buyers Guide thats out. Is Integy a direct affiliate of Crono?

Anyhow, Id like to check one out in person.

This is direct from my contact in the states

"crono RS01 in a ready to race
package that is buggy built with airtronics mx3 radio
with high torque servos, a novarossi comp rs3 .21 with
1 piece rb pipe, starter box, igniter, fuel bottle
etc"

All that for $1000 out the door.

Not a bad deal, and I've heard nothing but good things about Crono... Just not in my price range at the moment.

At the end of this page there is some info and homepage about the Crono
