I have an exceed madfire 1/8 buggy that I recently put a new engine in. (M28-p3) and I was having trouble breaking it in. I could not keep it running but I have tuned it and it is running fine now. My problem is after running for a couple minutes once the buggy comes to an idle it loses the rumbling sound and goes into more of a high pitch wine, if I give it some gas it will go right back to normal until coming back to an idle. Does anyone have any idea what would cause this?

I have checked. Idle gap is good and it is tuned well. I pulled the engine yesterday and found my clutch shoes are falling apart. It might be the clutch just not grabbing when it should. I'm not real sure. I've ordered new clutch shoes to see if it helps.
Thanks for the reply!

If the engine is idling ok then picking up revs then it may be to lean on the LSN, richen the LSN by 1/8 turn & see what happens. The clutch shouldn't be engaging when the engine is idling & if it does then its most likely the clutch springs & it would make the engine stall, not rev higher.

Can you elaborate on what you mean by your "clutch shoes are falling apart"? Thanks
