Hey everyone, thanks for making me feel at home, I'm new to forums, others don't work well with new people's questions. Does anybody know who's making the old style bug body- if any?

hmm I'm not sure man, but do u really want one? their cool and all i just think that too many people have em and there are getting to be alot of other bodies out now for crawler, just my opinion though.

There's not another body that performs like the bug body though. The bug body that works SO WELL on the crawlers is the HPI bug body, and they have discontinued it, due to licensing issues with VW. If you find them somewhere you better buy a few of them. I'm sure someone still has one or two left on the shelves, and I'm sure people still have some in their hobby rooms. The crawler guys are snatching up everyone they can find so they're getting hard to find.

We're glad to have you here man. I use another crawler forum for reference, but I don't spend a lot of time or post a lot there because most of the people are such self centered, selfish, rude, trashy, and plenty more words I can't say in the open forums. I've never found a forum that I like the way I like this one, and a lot of the members here are like family to me. When I got into crawling there weren't many people on here with crawlers, but since then the crawler population has been growing, just like the rest of the site, and we now have pretty good information being posted just about everyday. Also check out the rock crawling social group.

JJCrawler, I have located some bug bodies for you at regular price. Two that I was watching on ebay went for $60 and $68 last week. I did a lot of research and talked to a lot of people, and my friend Corey that owns RPP Crawlers has some in stock and he's selling them for like $21 or something close. Here's the link, hope this helps. If you're interested in using a bug body in the future you should probably jump on this deal because they're getting harder and harder to find. Corey didn't have many left when I talked to him.

not trying to hijack, but besides the bug bodies and losi crawlers, what are good comp bodies, i like rhe look of a somewhat realistic body, all i can think of is the chevy crawler by proline...but I'm a ford/dodge guy lol...

I bought one of the new prepainted Axial XC-1 bodies because I needed one quick, and I was really surprised when I got it. It's absolutely beautiful in person, and it only required a small amount of trimming for clearance. The Losi body, and the pro-line crawler body will fit without a lot of trimming. Any of the monster truck bodies that pro-line has that look like full size truck bodies, are going to have to be cut to hell and back just to get them to fit and to have the clearance that you need on the crawler. I think the proline C10 crawler is one of the best looking bodies out there, and it requires no trimming on most axials. There are also the J-Concepts bodies, you might like them since they resemble full size trucks but still have that Losi flare. I'm not crazy about the bug bodies, I don't like how they look and that everyone has one. But the fact is, if I'm blessed enough to start competing and traveling on a national level, then I'm going to need to squeeze every bit of possible performance out of my rig, and there isn't a body out there that performs half as well as the bug bodies, so I just bought three of them to put on the shelf, because in six months they will be like the land cruiser bodies, selling for $150 at some places that still have some.

I have a 3 nip HPI bug bodies and one on my comp rig.Best thing for a crawler. IMO

nice rig u got there man.^^^

Chip's got one of the nicest axial rigs I've seen anywhere. In fact, when I got home from the June comp, I got busy ordering a GC2 chassis and a bunch of other parts for my comp rig. Chip is so cool and I'm such a loser, I want to be just like him.

I didn't know they came with a mirrored ball in the windshield and bell bottom tires lol. (ok cheezy 70s joke) Anyway, they're getting hard to find. I just bought 3 NIP ones last night just because I know when I make it to nationals next year with my axial that Chip says is already out of style (kinda like my jokes) that I may want to run a bug body that says, "Hey Chip, Berg This!"

No but really, I went ahead and bought three of them just because there's nothing else that performs like them, and they quit making them. I'm expecting to see some of the crawler guys coming out with some round bodies to try and get something that performs well but doesn't get into trouble with the license board at VW.

And although I give Chip a hard time because of his earlier comment about my axial, I will soon be building a berg just to see how I like it.

I really need the ones that I bought, BUT, I've contacted some of my friends that are distributors, and I'm trying really hard to find you one. I'll let you know when I run across something. How many do you want if I can get my hands on some?
