u dont have to run lipo packs when brushless

bmillers 4600 with 7 cell was very nice but run time was not as long ,on 3 cell it was awesome like nite and day

alpines 5700 on 7 cell was the same i would say give are take a little but on the venom
3s he got (not sure mah)it was insane

make sure u pick up some tires glue u will need it

If you do run that setup make sure you gear down or something..ask alpine...he learned the hard way lol

Oh, come on! It ran great til it caught fire!

Flame on!

Not to derail... but what "rule" did our friend bend? I miss him around here. Crime has gone up 50% since he left! Rolex is running around with his pants off again! :D

I talk to James a couple times a week. He says he is unsure just exactly what he did. I do know he tried sneaking back in and got his IP's blocked. He should have known better about that!

Anyway he will be here in two days. I can't wait--I need a break. Those are some big shoes to fill.

Sorry guys, not trying to derail a thread just replying to a question that I have some information about. That is ok isn't it?

Flame on again!

For those who plan on running anything greater than a 1/10 scale 4600KV motor on 3S, keep your runs short in duration for motor longevity.

those are great choices, but i say go novak, ya its more expensive, but its the ultimate brushless system it is definatly well worth the cash.

why is novak the ultimate system??? not hating on it or anything just curious

well i went nitro instead of brushless when i finally got that kind of money, but i have 2 friends with novak, and one of them has a buggy that goes 60+ and will still flip its self on its back of the line, but one of them also has a mamba in his 1/18 but my stock minizilla is faster and more powerful, i have seen a few other systems but novak beats all of them. price is the only down side.

Installed

Well I got everything except the battery today and just couldn't wait so I went to the LHS and all he had was a 3s 2200mah and a maxamps 2s 6500. Bought them both and raced back home.(Keep in mind we have 3" of icy snow on the road:buggy1:) Got it installed(Tires on backwards, spur gear to tight:loser:) Carefully read the Lipo charging instructions(Don't burn the house down:angry:) and headed off to find a dry spot with a foot of melting snow on the ground to test(Drive 50mph into a wall) the new power out. After driving it around for awhile man my Nitros are pissed. that thing hauls ass and thats all there is to it. good throttle control, real nice manageable power even with 3s. I ran the 2s 6500 thru it hard and the esc and motor weren't hot at all not even with the 3s even though I ended up hitting the wall riding a wheelie. I already had RPM replacents for the parts that broke.

as soon as Youtube gets done chewing on the video I will post a link. and yes Velineon motor and esc, 18/86 gearing(too tight). 7 cell 5000 nimh, 2s 6500 maxamps lipo, and 3s 2200 lipo

:hehe:

That was funny as hell syphon, that Slash is bad ass!! I'm jealous.
Why not run it in the snow? Of course with that kind of power, you'd be spinning the wheels all day long.
I like how it rolls right over when taking a corner and you give it a little throttle. :D Now that is some sick power.

yeah that was with the 2s, It was raining on top of the snow and I have only had the esc 4 hours so I wasn't ready to get water in it yet...but overall thanks to you guys a good choice especially if I put it back together right. it was just shredding the tires on the asphalt but it was fun.
