brushless slash hmmmm

well i just got birthday money and i was in the market for a 1/18 mini deasert truck,then wile at my lhs i saw a helicopter and decided not to get that and then the owner puls out this slash that was brushless and suggest i get a brushles vxl,my problem is that i only have a 6cell baterie so is it even worth my trouble of getting the vxl?or should i get a heli or the deasert truck

I have a DTX4200mah 6cell along with my new 4500mah 7cell. The 6cell if the MAH is high like 4200 and voltage around 7.2, you will see that thing come to life. Though they aren't as powerful as some of the 7, 8 and if you can find one 9 cells will make it even better. You just need to look at the voltage, make sure it's around 7.2 or higher. Also, the Mah I would say shouldn't be any lower than 4200.
Now as for lipos, your on your own with that. They are a bit more pricey and some of the other guys here will have to answer questions about them. I have yet to own one.

I also have the 6-Cell 7.2v Duratrax 4200 NiMH pack and have ran it in my VXL Slash and it had plenty of power. It pretty close to lipo, only the power isn't steady from start to end like with a lipo pack. Other than that, you won't be disappointed by using NiMH. You will enjoy it for the time being, and if down the road you make the switch to a 2-3s lipo you'll have even more power.
