Hello,

Does anyone here run brushless systems, more specifically in a T4 i9n a mod class? I was considering to get a T4 with a BL system for my 2nd race vehicle (I have a GT) because I don't want to have lathes and all that brush management crap. Is there really any cons about them?

I have a few brushless minis,E-Maxx and a Xray TR1.

The main thing to watch for is proper gearing, because heat will raise fast if geared to tall. And this heat is enemy number one of any motor.

Also good quality low resistance cells like the GP3300 to really see these brushless perform and not cog.Deans Ultra connectors for the battery pack or cells(if not soldered to the battery tabs).

Thats the only downfall is over-gearing and heat? Well that applys to all of them. Any other thing?

Well, my tracks are usually slick, so I'll upgrade when needed.

With the T4 you will not have to worry about beefing anything up. It will handle all the motor you can put to it. here at my local track our traction is very very good, we run pink slicks front and rear, several of the guys run the 5.5 or 6.5 brushless with great success your main thing will be gearing to keep temp down. that is it. if temp gets to high they shut down. but once you find that gearing your good to go. the brushless also dont have the drag that a regular motor has so it will take you a bit to get used to your drag brake settings. we have guys that run them in 4wd 2wd and truck so I dont see any reason why you can't, MY only thing I would say is this it seems the powerband of those motors is not near as linear, the power hits fast and hard so with a slick track it might take some getting used to. hope this helps you out.

Mike
