Greets to all in Savage land, this is my first post but have been using forum since the dawn of time.

Can anybody help sort out a little problem i am having with my beautifully crafted Savage .21. Had it about a month now, its ace, added a F/S and a saver filter upto now but the last week or so i have not been able to use the car properly because when i squeeze to trigger to full throttle the servo switches off until revs drop then it comes back on again until revs pick up then its off again, low throttle is fine but at full its brum, brum, brum, brum, hope you guys know what i am trying to say.

Have taken out the fail safe and tried a new servo and on/off switch but its still the same. Broke the engine in as per instructions exept i ran 2 tanks at idle instead of one and was also tuned to the max before this fault started.

Any help with this problem will be gratefully recieved. Thanks

So your servo switches completely off when you give it full throttle? Is this is the case I'd look for a wire being pinched by the servo or the servo not having a clean travel distance due to something blocking the servo. You could also have a defective servo or some sort of radio interference being caused by metal parts moving together.

If you could please explain the problem a little more in detail if this is not what was happening.

Loved your vids, can't stop watching them all.

Took it out on some ice the other day, put my foot on the front and pulled the trigger, Can watch the servo pulling throttle in and out on its own. At only half throttle its fine or when engine not running all servo's function properly. Could it be a naf receiver or loose fitting crystal maybe thats loosing contact due to vibration at higher revs.

You could also have a short in the electrical system that the vibration makes stop your servos. If only your throttle servo stops try changing the servo, just the plugs and see if it still happens. If it does still happen then there's something blocking the movement of your servo. If it does not and your steering wigs out then you've got a bad servo.

So many things to go wrong but its always something i can't find.

Tried the servo swap already, did notice earlier that when throttle servo goes nuts that the steering does not respond very well either, kind of narrows it down a bit.

Just changed most of the wiring for new adding solder instead of push fit connections, still doing the same. Think i will try a new receiver there quite cheap, if that does not cure it i will be back.

Thanks for the help El Pirata.

sounds like what happened to my RS4,it was funny half throttle was fine when I hit full throttle it would cut the steering to the left,I had knicked the humpack wire and it was shorting out on the chassie, but only at full throttle?check all your electronics for exposed wires.

I was having issuse with my 3rd channel not switching gears. It would engage, disengage, and twitch.

Turns out it was three things in concert.

Metal touching metal causing glitching.
A not-so fresh battery
And, a unoticable amount of moisture in the rx box.

Fixing any one of these things made it a little better, fixing all three, made it quit.

Thanks for your help guys, did all the checks you mentioned but did not find anything wrong. Finished off putting in a new reciever and that cured it straight away so off i went to grab some air only to find out that the bloody car has decided to become a rear wheel drive only truck. Actually more fun cus it pops wheelies all over the place and spins like a dream, do you think it would cause too much stress on the back box by being 2 wheel drive.

sounds like a drive pin may have busted. check your universals at the tranny and at the front diff. This happened twice on my MGT..it was the center drive cup in and then the universal came apart on me leaving me in 3 wheel drive

Cheers for that Jon2, firing on all four again. Found a new track today and it certainly puts the Savage beast through its paces. Will be making a video soon on how to make a Savage bash the hell out of anything, should be fun to do.
Will keep yall posted as and when its ready... Cheers for the help.
