I have about 1+ tanks in the baja and this is what I have broken so far.

Screw in to clutch housing that hold the pinion on it just snapped?

Rear Left shock shaft bent like a "L". Haha didnt land a jump quite right and it rolled.

Front shock upper plastic holder.

I guess one needs to purchase some aluminum parts to make it durable. I was jumping some grassy hills about two feet high max in the air. I know its a heavy car but I am a little dissapointed in its durability. Its a offroad car and people are going to jump it. I like the car a lot just wish it were a little more durable. It is the 5b and I hear the SS has thicker shock shafts.

It is fun!!

Well I've had one for awhile now and the only things I broke sofar has been shock shafts. Front.. Rear it doesn't matter they all bend the same . There are lots of options for shafts and new shocks now.. As mentioned in one of your other posts goto www.hpibajaforum.com or even www.largescaleforums.com and you will find all the info you need .

broken pinion bolts are common unfortunatly. go to your local hardware store and pick up a couple number 12 grade bolts to replace it with.

bent shocks again, unfortunatle common, but you would do well to get a set of PhatDads PhatShafts replacement shock shafts. they are well worth the cost of admission for the shocks. he has a good and fair warrenty on them too. again well worth the cost for the phatshafts.

as far as the shock cap all you can do is not roll it over and have the front end draggin around. lol TGN makes some front caps in aluminum if your interested.

sounds like common baja stuff really!
not sure if you know or not, but the sister site has shizloads of baja info. www.hpibajaforum.com

Myself and NitroGhost are thinking of getting Baja's next month. Would you recommend it? Thanks in advance...........

its definately fun and different that running the 1/8 scale i currently race. Its heavy so when you jump it and it lands wrong things may break. I could jump my 1/8 scale at full speed 15 feet in the air and 40 ft long and land upside down and it would cartwheel for awhile land on its wheels and go again. Not the Baja, but when you drive a rc that big with a weedeater engine it just makes you smile!!

Thanks Deuce, I have a savage and nitroghost has a savage and tmaxxes and a chaos. I am pretty sure we are gonna get the kits since they have the 26cc engine verses the 23cc RTR. We have been reading alot about the baja and wanted the opinion of others here that have one. When your blowing a grand, some serious consideration is in order.

Go Phat on the shafts just as Timmah suggested. One of the best upgrades you can get for the 5B

The stock 23cc motor on the RTR still has plenty of go! It has more than enough power to fry the rear tires on it.
