Hello, I was out bashing a little today and I spun an axle, this is the 3rd time i have done this and it is started to aggrivate me... I have a traxxas nitro sport and i have put different gearing on it....is the gearing that i put on it to low of gearing making it have too much torque? I was also wondering if there was anyway i could put metal axles on it....right now it has plastic ones like all traxxas has.....plz help :help:

Sup dude,

It's definitely the lower end from your re-gearing that's bending and tweaking your plastic stuff. I'm not even going to bother c'ing how long it takes to bend the plastic sliders on my Maxx when it's back together as it will be running a Mod'd Sirio .18 and low gearing most of the time (16tooth clutch bell and 74+ spur). I'm getting a full set of the Shiny MIP Cvds (a little heavier but sweet looking and strong as hell).

Yep, You can put metal Axles on your Maxx.....they're called CVD's as mentioned above (Constant velocity drives). I would reco Mip CVD's if they make them for your truck as many consider them the "Cadillac of CVDS" (bad analogie as Caddies suck ass..hehe). The CVD's from Unlimited Engineering are nice but can be very expensive.

BTW what kind and size of engine is in that thing now and how exactly do you have it geare??

Its not a maxx its a nitro sport but it has a .15 pro in it with a 16 tooth bell onit and a 72 tooth spur....what do u think i should do?

I'm going to my LHS tomorrow so if u can help me out onwhat toget plz do......

SUp dude, SOrry I should have been a little more clear. I saw that u said Nitro SPort and I was using the Maxx for an example. My buddy was running the same Gearing on his Maxx and he loves it for crawling and climbing. He's said he went through the sliders in a week. He's now running CVD's.

That .15Pro is a good reliable engine but you'd really be breaking chit with that gearing and a 2.5...lol. CVD's aren't cheap and they can have their downsides.MOst people people swear by them and some people sweat at them..lol. If you can afford it, I'd get MIP cvd's all around. They aren't cheap but if you wanna run gearing that produces lots of tweaking torque then it's really your only option. They require some matinence but not much. IF your only breaking your center drivelines then I'd replace them with the CVDS for now. Then you can get the rest l8tr.

Peace and good luck

You will find that they make CVDs to fit most RC trucks and vehicles that have axles. If you go to the LHS, they should know what they are and which size your NitroSport will need.

thanks guys...imgoin to my LHS tuesday...and ill ask him then....thank you alot....buti guess for now in out of commision and wont be able to bash all weekend :(
