If you leave it on the factory settings, and follow instructions, you won't break anything. I have yet to break in the engine wrong....well except for the hyper 8, but it wasn't my fault.
This's how I break in my engine. Do 4-5 idle tanks with no throttle input. Just have it sitting at idle without the wheels moving. Then do 2 1/4 throttle tanks where you go no more than 1/4 throttle. Then 2 more 1/2 throttle tanks. Going no more than half throttle. Then tune it and go for broke.
Sometimes while you're breaking in an engine, you have to lean out the LSN or HSN depending on your stage of break in.
It's really not that hard, it's just something you have to learn to do eventually.
