I found out how low of a budjet I'm on, theres a rc10gt i might get, and my lhs says $60 for tuning and braking in the engine,

Nope, tune it yourself! I never let the LHS tune my engines. Chances are you're paying for a bad tune, and the conditions always change so the tune with always be off.

Beside, my hobby shop probably charges $15 or some poop to tune the engine, still easier and cheaper to do it yourself.

Well tuning for low-end isn't that hard. High end can be a little more challenging. Give it a try. You'll go broke if you rely on the hobby shop to tune your car and rebuild your car.

Ok cuase I'm kinda a gearhaed so i can figure things out on my own. What happens if i break in the engine wrong?

If you leave it on the factory settings, and follow instructions, you won't break anything. I have yet to break in the engine wrong....well except for the hyper 8, but it wasn't my fault.

This's how I break in my engine. Do 4-5 idle tanks with no throttle input. Just have it sitting at idle without the wheels moving. Then do 2 1/4 throttle tanks where you go no more than 1/4 throttle. Then 2 more 1/2 throttle tanks. Going no more than half throttle. Then tune it and go for broke.

Sometimes while you're breaking in an engine, you have to lean out the LSN or HSN depending on your stage of break in.

It's really not that hard, it's just something you have to learn to do eventually.

These are just two good threads on the break in process. There are plenty on the site. I recommend you either follow the procedures defined by the owner's manual for the engine...or read up on the methods available. Bottom line, the most important part of your RC is the engine. The most important part of running your engine is the break in process. Do not cut corners...it'll cost you more than the $60 the LHS is trying to charge you...

When you get your car it will say how to do it. I am a first time nitor and i tuned my nitro really easly but i have a temp gun. If you have extra money like 30$ i think it would be in your best intrest to get one.
Also when tuning it listen for a clink clank sound. (it sounds like metal is hitting metal that means it is to lean. I hope this Helps
